Ah yes, one of those songs about itself. We need more of those, just as we need more posts here like the brilliant post you are now reading!
The only thing with which I credit the Beatles is my wanting to be a rock star. I remember seeing all those girls lose their effing minds on the Ed Sullivan Show, and thinking, “That’s what I want to do”.
Prince is in the top 1% of guitarists. Magical...a nut mind you...but magical.
Prince may be a tad on the strange side, but he can play a mean guitar. Nice job.
Thx much!
If you ever thought that Prince was NOT a rocker, look no further. Wail.
Was that Stevie Winwood on the keyboards? Couldn’t find him in the band.
Who’s the young kid to the right of Tom Petty? He bears a remarkable resemblance to a young George Harrison. Is he related (grandson or something)?
Yeah, he's the African-American.
George was always my favorite Beatle. John was just a drugged out hippy and Paul was just a pretty boy wannabee (a Justin Bieber).
But, but, what about Pete Best?
I did not know Prince was such a guitar player.
Dave Clark was a great drummer.
Yeah, Prince is pretty darned good in this video. Impressive, but then again he was always a really good guitar player & showman. Too bad he went off the deep end with the weird name change thing, like Pee-pee-diddly or whatever that rapper clown guy is named these days.
There are two sets of keyboards, RC. Stevie is the one in the center stage...the big wooden box of keyboards (don’t know who makes that thing...looks like a classic Yamaha).
I suspect the black keyboardist was the late Billy Preston.
The kid to Tom Petty’s left is George’s son.
And once again:

Prince comes out pretty good in the video, despite all the body gyrations, which many tend to confuse for brilliant guitar playing, and despite throwing the Fender at the end somewhere (into the audience?), and despite the song being a bit below his abilities, I mean a simple three chord thing, that for him looked like a piece of cake now worthy finishing, which is how I interpret the guitar tossing.
