OK... I LOOKED, SEARCHED.... didn't find anything from Dotty. But, seriously... tonight's the OSCARS! Where's our Live Thread??
Very painful to watch... worst ever...
Why, don’t you want to celebrate the best entertainment vehicle products of the year?! Even artichoke growers, to take one example, have their yearly ceremony celebrating their bidnyz!
Ah... in the one that won, the little girl STOLE it... she should be getting the award.
Good question:
To the extent they are arts, that is good.
The problem is, mostly they are simply leftist propaganda.
That is the problem.
They are only half the arts.
So really, nothing.
She is in her 70’s spring chicken she aint.
Innocente, documentary short film
She could hardly sing “Goldfinger” — it was embarrassing.
I think the last time I went to a theater to see a movie was with my son (aged 42), to see "Captain America." We have a drive-in not far from us, and during the summer we'll go. They show double features, and sometimes triple features.
The Paper Man won Animated Short... but really.. all of them were pretty weak this year. The only one I really liked was the Maggie Simpson one, The Longest Day Care
Haven’t watched since they (in the audience—I’m talking to YOU, Nick Nolte!) gave the cold shoulder to Elia Kazan.
Artistic talent means nothing-politics rule.
In other words, that was the year it became sickeningly obvious that commies infest hollywood.
Which of the Best Picture nominees do you think are propaganda? Argo and Zero Dark Thirty have actually been called ‘right wing propaganda’ by the MSM. Les Miz, Life of Pi, Silver Linings Playbook certainly aren’t. Nor are the others as far as I can tell.

“Curfew” won the live action short... which has five really fine films...
Curfew was the only American nomination... it was the story of a young man, about to commit suicide, who is saved by his sister’s need for a baby-sitter... and, the relationship he quickly strikes up with his niece.....
I thought it was the weakest of the bunch... but, it was still good.
My how the mighty have fallen. I didn’t even know the Oscars were on tonight. No idea.
Not a care, either.
I haven’t seen an episode of ‘the oscars’ since the early 80s when it was on as I passed through the room
It's for the tourist.
I see you're from Kentucky.
Thanks for the post. Feel free to continue.
I agree... but, the MIGHTY that has fallen is.. Free Republic. It's been years since we had a server capable of supporting a LIVE THREAD... I've really missed it.
Maybe.. this is GOOD SIGN of things to come... seems to be holding up.
Haven’t seen them, but I gather from comments here on FR that Zero Dark Thirty may be a real picture. Argo perhaps as well.
Have to see both yet though to be honest.
However on balance Hollywood is so breathtakingly biased toward one side, as to be unbearable.
Just worth commenting on. :D
