OK... I LOOKED, SEARCHED.... didn't find anything from Dotty. But, seriously... tonight's the OSCARS! Where's our Live Thread??
My husband and I absolutely loved Act of Valor! I immediately wanted to see the film a second time. God bless our Navy Seals and Special Forces...
I had such a crush on Gene Autry when I was 6 years old.
I was on a plane for the left coast while the Oscars were on, and by the time I got to my hotel, the broadcast was over (thank goodness). But from what I hear, Seth McFarlane will go down as the worst Oscars host in history, even below David Letterman’s disastrous appearance a few years back.
What I find hilarious is that Hollywood will immediately start pointing fingers and back-stabbing each other over the Oscars debacle, as only they can. Heheheh...couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch.
Here’s what I would really like to see: every year, Drudge and others post the overnight Nielsen ratings in the largest metered markets like NY, Chicago and LA. But there are now 56 metered markets across the country that report audience data the next day. It would be very interesting to see how the numbers tail off as you move into the smaller markets. Beyond LA and NY, interest in the Academy Awards is middling, at best.
Thanks FRiend. No, you weren’t blackballed. I just had enough abuse from people who never went to movies but felt it vital to post and kill everyone’s fun. Bummer.
I had a nice night of watching the awards (until MO) alone. And it went well.. no one yelled and belittled me for my interests.

amen!
miss you.
but don’t miss the distractors & disgusting “moralists” who feel they need to pee in everyone’s Cheereos
I really could care less about the stars, starlets. fashion, gossip and other fussy intrigue to do with Oscars. Hugely overrated egos and talents. With so much to choose from for entertainment, one would definitely not want to watch the narcissism of the Hollywood elite.
LOL, I have to agree, Tim!
There were some really great performances in Les Miz (especially Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean), but overall neither my husband nor I really liked the movie. Although we like musicals if they're done well, there was waaaay too much singing in Les Miz, not all of it good, or necessary.
We found ourselves looking at our watches during the movie (very rare for us), and wishing Andrew Lloyd Webber had done the music. None of the songs in Les Miz are particularly memorable, in our opinion...
Hi GirlFRiend!
tough winter.. missing you? was hoping for a toast at the inaguration but voter fraud, stupid voters, media idiocy ended that.
keep safe/warm. I am wintering in OKC. Nice state for conservatives. If only it had some moutains & ocean it would be outstanding
I don't want to watch them until the series is complete.
Thanks.
There will be a third.
note -— Jane Fonda is a good actress..
she however is an extremely poor American. That is true of a lot of performers.
It is also true of many other professionals.. doctors, dentists, grocers, merchants..
Night all. I have read the thread. Glad I didn’t start one this year.
I still love my fellow movie enthusiasts. Just wont let myself be abused any longer here
Jane is not only a poor American... she is a TRAITOR American... big difference from all the other “poor Americans” out there. Too bad you don’t recognize that.
I sure miss seeing you around FR, FRiend. It's not the same without you here as often these days...
We're still shell-shocked over the election... it's gonna be another tough four years.
No shortage of those here... a few of them made such a graceful appearance on this very thread tonight. :-(
I didn’t watch either Communist function. I merely informed you of FR’s successful LIVE threads since Election Day.
INDEED!
Thanks, I guess I’ll wait then.
