I am waiting for my daughter to come home from her Civil Air Patrol meeting and I have a movie ready to go for the family this evening. It is a much better alternative than having the yell at the TV using language that is completely unacceptable. I am sure it would only take 30 seconds before I call Obama Amish if I start watching him.
I previewed a movie that is on Netflix the other night. It seems like it will be a good one. A teenage boy that sails unassisted around the world back in the 60's. Low tech, no GPS, storms, strange lands, and for women, a love story. This is what we will watch.
The reason ... It's not because he sailed around the world, or climbed a mountain, it's because he didn't give up ... That gives people hope.

Watching Faceoff, Total Blackout, counting the grey hairs on my big toes, anything but watching the would-be Ceausescu lay out his next four years of dictatorship.

Reading Theodore Dalrymple:
But there is a much more insidious threat to our freedom even than that posed by a self-replicating and self-satisfied political class that lives in a kind of mentally-gated (and often physically separate) community. It is that posed by an important section of the political class that values power much more highly than it values liberty: the liberty of others, I mean, for even Genghis Khan valued his own liberty.Always fascinating......

My oldest son has watched all nine seasons of Red Dwarf on DVD and live streaming from Netflix. The 10th season aired on British TV last year.

He does kind of look like that lol. 'Swagger' (Old English Sheepdog) was second, but the crowd favorite by far.

I told the kids “no TV, no radio, no internet. We’re going to study for ALL of your tests this week.”
The kids hate me, but I thought we’ve be focused and productive, unlike anything in the media. Well, maybe Ron Paul’s rebuttal.
