Basil Rathbone was such a good Sherlock! You will hear no arguments from me about that statement!
Grew-up (open to debate) watching the black and white episodes with Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce.
They are, as far as i'm concerned, Holmes and Dr Watson.
And a very Good Morning to you 'Face. :)

Like the one with the national drone Runner game show. I'm sure that could be very popular in certain circles.
Was the movie 'Roller-ball' (Film) responsible for this nightmare?
Afoot this a word in it's own right in the OED.
Page 28, forth word down, in middle column.
It comes wrapped with a confusion...
1 Adverb & Adjective ,in preparation or progress;happening or beginning to happen: [as predic, adj.] plans are afoot for a festival.
2 chiefly N. Amer, on foot: [as adv] they were forced to go afoot.
So there we have it, once again that Pond has changed the meaning of a word.

Apparently teh mutated gene responsible for red hair also inhibits the function of anaesthetics.
The degree that it does it somewhat varies from person to person.
Thanks for that data ,Darks.
This explains waking up in the recovery room and terrifying the daylights out of the nurse.
Sat-up like a zombie and said in a loud voice: Painkiller!

Well good morning to you Mr. Moose! I see you sent a bunch of blue stuff to sit on top of us. About 2ish inches on the ground last I looked!

The trick in having a companion parrot to assist you in your surly endeavors is to find one who has mastered the stealth technique of casting no shadow.

You could probably get one from a parrot-rescue organization.

Sorry. Some days, only the voices in my head make sense. It isn't your fault. It's no fun being online if you have to try to interpret a post the way a person meant it when they wrote it.
They don't measure computers in horsepower. I have no idea why they measure a car in horsepower. I don't care how many horses you attach to the front of a car, it won't go more than 35 mph on a great day.

Ive never read Atlas Shrugged, because it didnt seem to be something I might be interested in. Don't bother now. Just watch the news. Different names, same story (with a little more faith in God thrown in in the news version).

But it is far too late to remonstrate with Ayn Rand now. It wouldn't do any good anyway. She interviewed my uncle about whether a certain event in the book would be possible. I won't spoil by writing which event here. He told her that beyond a doubt it was scientifically impossible.
She used it anyway.

Afoot this a word in it's own right in the OED. It doesn't work to define words to me. I prefer to misconstrue the language in posts. It makes being online more fun. Thanks to the built-in ambiguity in English, it's a never-ending source of entertainment, at least for me.
For most people who know me, they don't even reply any more, unless it looks like the misconstruction will lead to an entertaining discussion.

Bryan laughed his [unladylike word] off at that!
I happened to have it on my screen when he came in for breakfast - yes, my computer is on the dining room table.
To: Tax-chick
Scarmabling the language is a major entertainment of the Undead Thread. I don't remember "The Phantom Tollbooth" all that well, but I wouldn't be surprised if scrambled sentences weren't regularly served for breakfast at one or the other of the places the kid visited.
