Russian PM not joking – extraterrestrials live among us according to MIB documentary

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s off-air comments that Russian Presidents are given a secret file about extraterrestrials living among us created much media interest. Most news reports claimed that Medvedev was simply joking. His apparent reference to the Men In Black movie as a source of information on a super secret agency that monitors extraterrestrials on Earth was commonly cited as key evidence that he was in fact joking. The reasoning is that no political leader would refer reporters to a comedy to clarify national policy. It has now emerged that Medvedev was not referring to the Men in Black comedy after all, but to a recent Russian television documentary titled “Men in Black” that reveals many details about an extensive cover up of extraterrestrial life visiting Earth.

However, a more accurate translation of what Medvedev actually said about the Men in Black phenomenon was: “You can receive more detailed information having watched the documentary film of the same name.” So Medvedev was referring to a Russian “documentary film” titled Men in Black, not the Hollywood blockbuster by the same name...

Russian Men In Black (MIB) documentary, a number of prominent UFO cases in Russia and the USA are discussed. The Roswell UFO crash is covered, along with a number of extraterrestrial abduction cases, and UFOs disabling nuclear weapons facilities. The documentary examines testimony that extraterrestrial bases have been established on Earth, and that some are in restricted US military areas with the full knowledge of the Pentagon. The documentary even goes on to seriously discuss President Eisenhower’s alleged meeting with extraterrestrials, where agreements were reached with some of the visitors giving them permission to take some of the Earth’s resources in exchange for advanced technology...

Don’t you have that backwards? In English sentence structure we would say, “A foot is something sinister.” That is, unless it’s poetry.

Adverb

  1. In preparation or progress; happening or beginning to happen.
  2. On foot.

The usage is fine, please refer to Sherlock Holmes stories for reference.

"Ah Watson, i think the game is afoot!"

$10? How long has it been since you checked out what it costs for Netflix? It’s cheaper if you watch the movies online, but it’s $36.80 (includes 3D and Blu-Ray) if you want to see just 4 movies at a time on DVDs with your own equipment (as Bryan insists).

However, we do watch four movies a week, and that works out to about $2.12 per movie. It’s much cheaper than renting tapes or DVDs from a walk-in store. And it’s ridiculously cheaper than going to the theater.

That’s why you’re the Imperial Weatherman and everyone else isn’t.

30 and catbeems here. Jake was last spotted in Kathleen’s bed, but he may have moved on after I got out a terrifying plastic bag.

I'm the Imperial Weatherman because Kingprout gave me the job and then left town.

Everyone forgets about the "spinner of odd yarns" and "Subverter of Manitoba" appellations. I keep that side quiet.

"Oh, I remember the Manitoba Incident!"

It's supposedly still in negotiations, but I don't think it's going to work out.

Evidently, four hundred tons of gold doesn't buy what it used to buy. Maybe they thought it was adulterated with tungsten.

Idiots! Why would we do that? Tungsten is valuable and useful!

I’m reading the Sherlock Holmes Mysteries on Kindle. Starting with the four novels he wrote. Basil Rathbone was such a good Sherlock! LOL! About the only one I’ve seen since who was any good, is Robert Downey, Jr.

How are things in your neck of the woods?

Like I could get a word in edgewise?

Why would you want to get the word "edgewise" in? And what would you want to get the word in to?

Also, I think your word order is a little off again.

Yes, that is correct, it really was designed by a committee, and a committee composed of people with no common language at that!

Thanks for the explanation.

I don't think the lack of a common language was the problem. I think they should have had a common user.

When the committee that designed the FB-111 (the world's first swing-wing plane) designed the cockpit, they didn't invite a pilot. They designed the control to swing the wings so it worked backward from a pilot's point of view. They thought "forward for forward, backward for backward." A pilot thinks, "forward for faster, backward for slower." The result is that the first test pilot nearly turned the first test plane into a smoking hole in the ground.

That's cheaper than renting on-line from Amazon or youtube, but not cheaper than a Redbox or Blockbuster Express. We might watch 4 movies a month.
