Did you tell mom to try not to be so independent and that you will Take Care of It Tomorrow? Two bits says she doesn’t care! LOL!

One of my favorite C&H comix: Calvin looks in his dinner and says “Yuck. Rice.” Mom says “I didn’t put any rice in it. Those must be maggots.” Calvin: “Yum!!!” Dad: “My turn to be sick.”

I got so tired of being asked “What’s for dinner?” that I devised a way to make the question painful:
Q. What’s for dinner?
A. Food.
Q. What kind of food?
A. Edible.
Q. What kind of edible food?
A. Mystery meat and surprising side dishes.
A week of this, and the questions died away. They could smell it cooking and decided it wasn’t worth the frustration of asking me what it was.
Boy. I sure wish I had a couple of those days back again...

OOOhhhyah!
The fire in that kid’s eyes when he thinks he’s eating monkey brains is priceless! And so is Dad’s dismay!

Mom says I didnt put any rice in it. Those must be maggots. Calvin: Yum!!! Dad: My turn to be sick. How about when mom says, "Stewed monkey heads?" Then at dinner Calvin is asking questions like, "What is this mushy stuff, is it the brains?" and Dad says, "What? I thought we were having stuffed peppers. What is this? I'm not eating it!!!"

roast salesmanGoes well when basted with a soy-ginger sauce after a tenderizing process involving thumping by largebunnylikecreature hindpaws..
So while sitting here contemplating sandwiches, for lack of anything else intellectual to do (at the moment that is - something Windows calls system idle process) a distant memory played across the screen of my brain. Once upon a time I had a friend (well, I still do have friends as strange as that may seem) but this particular friend is no longer in my local sphere of contact. It was the season of Lent and this friend was Roman Catholic. Being as it was Lent, he made himself a tuna sandwich with lettuce and tomato. (Not odd so far...) And put bacon on it.
Knowing that he did the fishonFriday thing and knowing that the fishonFriday thing turned into allthefishyoueverwantedforamonth thing at Lent, I asked him what was up with that.. He replied: "The tuna is for God, the bacon is for me..."
Offered as an interesting story only and not as a theological discourse on eating fish... ;-)

It makes my day seem a little brighter to know that Calvin was SUCH a boy! LOL!

Being omnivorous I can eat virtually anything with the exception of raw squid in its own ink and I've tried.

Speaking of which, why is that what a circle with a line in it means? It's an interrupted circle. Circle and circuit come from the same root word.
It was intended to combine 1 and 0 to symbolize on and off.
Blame the International Electrotechnical Commission. Yes, that is correct, it really was designed by a committee, and a committee composed of people with no common language at that!

LOL!
There must be a story in this...something rather bizzare but not necessarily implausible...

Somebody did an updated version...a few strips. Calvin appears to be Dad’s age, and the wife looks like Suzy. They have a daughter who is Hobbes new owner. Can’t think of it right now.
