LOL! Not touching that one!
It’s OK Face. I know she needs to feel like she’s “in charge” of “her son”. Plus, her husband has the week off, so they’ve been sharing him between themselves.
I sent her a text last night, asking for Grandma time, and today, at 8am, hubby woke me up with “There’s a grandson here to visit you!” Then he couldn’t stop laughing because I was out of bed so fast! I had him for 20 mins., while she took her dogs out. Then my arm went numb, so I gave him back. ;-)
When her hubby goes back to work, she will need me to help more.
It’s a fine line I am walking so that I don’t interfere, but it’s the right thing for me to do.
"And smale foweles maken melodye"?
“Carbon credits.”
But if you win max points you get a complimentary bus pass.
The finest overtures where being recited by the players of background music.
Nature always does play the finest harmonies for the theatre of life.
Thank you for the compliments. I definately married above my station. :-)
I’m 5’10”. She’s 5’8”.
It’s a running joke that if she ever wants to “sub-contract”, it’d be up to her to do the auditions and to approve any “new hires”.
We’re coming up on 17 years this September. Just another 63 to go to tie the standing record. :-)
You can only do what the situation and your instinct tell you. It was difficult for me to spend so many years away from my grandsons, but I never interefered or fought with her about her choices.
My grandsons don’t know me, but that’s ok. I love them, anyway.
Just enjoy the time you have with Marshall, and keep loving your daughter. It’s all you can do. ;o])
You’ll be fine.
OK, so how many points for a teenage female talking on a cell phone held in her right hand while gesticulating wildly with her left hand and steering her Massachusetts plated Smart Car with who knows what while displaying Hope, Change, Forward, and Yes we can Obuma stickers, a peace sign, a walking fish, an 'I love planned parenthood' sticker, a 'visualize world peace' sticker and a bumper sticker that says 'my other car is a Prius'...
Ought to be right up there... ;-)
“Captain, it’s not just a winter storm! It’s a temporal paradox!”
*cue dramatic music*
Hmm.
2 traffic violations (10) + 9 bumper stickers (45) + 10 for Massachusetts + 4 for age and let’s say another 5 for vehicle of choice.
A 2013 Smart Fortwo (made by Mercedes-Benz) costs about $18,000 MSRP. Therefore I’ll add 1 more for being the spoiled child of a rich twit (also known as a “one percenter.”)
That would be 106 points total. I’ve decided that you get 1 carbon credit per 5 points so that would be 20 carbon credits in total.
The judgement on the bus pass will have to wait until I’ve calculated out exactly how many points is the maximum number.
I could add on more points based on the fact that a 2013 Smartcar only has 70 horsepower and therefore isn’t anywhere near fast enough to drive on the Garden State Parkway, where the unofficial low speed limit is 80 mph. These are called “annoyance to other drivers” points but I’m still thinking about how to work those in.
I’m not really counting any traffic laws that I think are stupid, including throwing cigarette butts out the window on a major interstate or the one where you have to wear your seatbelt. Sure, if you don’t wear one you’re probably an idiot, but it doesn’t bother me if you then die in a car crash.
Black chevy volt driven by teen something who has a habit of holding cellphone to left ear with right hand, forearm cocked over the face as if to ward off impacts.
And they drive down the center of the road.
I’d have to say 2 traffic violations, not sure if “keep your hand at the level of your eyes” counts as one or not. I would add 2 points on the “annoyance to other drivers” scale because I hate the fact that people in New Jersey like to drive in the center of the road at all times, even at 10 at night on a 2-lane during a nor’easter.
A base model 2013 Chevy Volt is expensive at $31,645 MSRP at the very lowest. By comparison, a base 2013 Nissan 370Z starts at about $33,000. 2 points on the “one-percenter” scale. The Volt’s engine has 149 hp, so it will keep up with traffic on the GSP.
That is 16 points earning the driver 3 carbon credits.
The Chevy Volt site is not very well-designed, by the way. I had to search through Motortrend.com to figure out how big the engine was.
This is quite a good game. I may have to work up a chart so other people can play it.
It is an extremely badly designed hybrid that is still amrketed as an all electric.
The engine being mentioned as an afterthought.
This one drives in teh immediate area where ilive, they are local and think nothing of being on teh centerline.
They also act as if they have every right to be there.
SO when I come up with my Gaia murdering V6, they give me a dirty look.
They also didn’t appreciate me moving square on with them the one time they were driving SLOWLY towards me on the centerline.
If I hadn’t frightened the crap out of them they’d have hit me offset anyway.
So they pulled back into their lane fully and once again gave me a dirty look.
These are the two of three times I have seen this vehicle.
Oh, they also like to make left hand turns by first bobbing right and then cutting it short into the oncoming lane.
So number three meeting went like this: I am sitting at a stop sign making a right hand turn and this idiot near front ends me by pulling into my lane as they are making a left hand turn.
Once again, they gave me a dirty look as if it is my fault they are stupid.
I can’t wait for our fourth meeting.
