Perhaps Bill would do better singing dirges about his plight in a multi-child family. He is, no doubt, an Only Child, sent to the wrong family by mistake. Still, he has to act the part. ;o]
Of all middle children, Bill is the middle-est, and has been since Tom was born.
The guitarist and producer Jack White was the youngest of ten children. Bill could be like him and WORK instead of just hanging around ;-).
There is nothing more misunderstood than a misunderstood Middle Only Child. Especially one that embodies the adage: Beauty sits and then does nothing. If translated into Spanish, it is quite musical, but I only read it once or twice and can’t do more than recall the translation. And a loose translation, at that. :o|
Even Pat is not as Misunderstood as Bill. It’s tragic, really. I wish he’d get out of the kitchen and go upstairs and write songs ;-).
So very sorry to hear this news; it’s truly bittersweet, but — while we are in sorrow — Jesus is there welcoming the new arrival.
There’s no doubt that little girl is whole, safe, and Home.
Oh, phooo; look at me, being all somber. They’re probably there in Paradise running around, laughing, and playing some kind of silly games with Jesus, and a bunch of the angels. Or maybe He’s sitting with them telling them stories like, “Whence Enoch?” “David and the Big Lion,” or “Elijah’s Wild Ride.”
I can’t hardly imagine...but it brightens my outlook to try.
With the agressive brain cancer she had, it was a miracle that she lasted as long as she did. But she was a courageous little fighter, and even though she was partially paralyzed toward the end, she was upbeat and happy, and trying to encourage her parents and other family members to smile and laugh with her.
I believe Heaven got the best deal...
Thanks for your words. ;o]
When Igor was being exceptionally obtuse and difficult, I would say to him, in a pseudo-sympathetic voice, “Aw, honey. Are your ovaries bothering you again?”
I tell Tom, “I wish you would just have the baby already, and then you’d be more agreeable!” I think his size affects his hormone levels, because he has mood swings like a teenage girl. On the other hand, he’s always been like this, long before he was so large.
We ordered a lab coat for the science competition next weekend, and when I called the vendor to discuss the delivery date, the rep asked, “Are you sure this is the size you want? It’s really large for a student!” I told him Tom’s height and weight, and he said, “Yep, this is the right size.”
I haven’t heard that in a long time.
Mood swings are scary. Especially in one so young and of the masculine persuation.
“Large for a student?” What? The rep had never ordered a lab coat for an adult? Worse, had he never heard of an adult student? *shaking head*
Life is often not kind to those of lesser gifts.
And I think I will hear it at night, all night, for at least the next two weeks. I’m still fighting with a Beatle’s song...
Ummm... Don't know how to break this news to you, but it was a hit back in '65. I was (we were?) younger then... ;-)
Long term memory is still intact... ;-)
I was born in 1966, but I’ve listened to oldies radio.
I've used that phrase too...
After all, I'm 5 years older than my baby sister and she's 29...
Still some AM stations out there doing re-runs of WWII-era radio. They’re a real treat if you can find ‘em.
