Did sacrificing babies to Molech save the city from invasion or avert famine?

So, you're making a really good point. Scientists stand by their scientism by essentially claiming it wasn't their fault the results were off because of some other variable they could not control, but if you obey them anyway you'll get good results. In the same way, the priests of Molech didn't often see the answers they were looking for, but could blame other sins that weren't yet atoned for that made Molech angry.

The thing that will have us turn the corner will be when the Scientists actually achieve something by their scientism through the help of spiritual forces, but claim it was only materialistic science.

I wonder how close we are to that day.

What's that got to do with it. I can hold my breath for hours without any ill effects.

At least it didn’t attack you out of frustration.

It does that a lot, but my keyboard has an escape key, so it's all good.

Isn’t FtI a little older than the other four?
Maybe he’s just a little stunted in his maturation?

*Bad literary idea generated*

I’ll be right back.

My computer chair has an ejection handle.

I tried that. Unfortunately, my computer has reflexes like The Hulk. Even the rocket boost doesn't get me out of range fast enough.

But it does make it harder to hit that ESC key.

Their track record so far isn't great. Have they cured or stopped the spread of AIDS? Done anything about natural disasters? Found a cure for obesity? Stopped aging?

I don't think there will be a big breakthrough success, no matter how many people are sacrificed. I think the bad guys enjoy fooling with them ... "Kill 100 babies ... and a few old people ... and lie, and cheat ... and sign away your soul ... WHOOPS, didn't work again? Fool you twice, shame on you!"

CAT5, CAT5E, or CAT6?

Or a CAT of another dimension?

I realized two things will have to happen before I can make the trip: 1) I need a new pair of sneaks, and 2) I have to lose enough weight to fit into my summer (smaller) wardrobe! LOL!

And I may be tempted to find some sandals. I love my Sketchers, but they don’t always look good with shorter pants. (Lucky me, there is a Sketchers Outlet a few miles from here, so I don’t have to pay full price!)

I’ve been having a lot of fun with the coloring books! Busdaddy asked me a few days ago, when he saw all 120 of my crayons sitting out, if I was just starting something new or polishing up a hidden talent! I told him I was polishing a hidden talent. Yesterday, I showed him what I had done so far (almost finished a Steampunk page) and he was impressed! I laughed, it felt so good! :o])

That cat is only there when you observe him directly. Otherwise, indeterminacy takes over and there is no telling where he might be...

Speaking of cats, currently stuck in my head...

The Polecats- Make a Circuit with Me

A sweet romance is not for me
I need electricity
If you wanna make me flip
Hit me with a micro chip

I'll be a diode, cathode, electrode
Overload, generator, oscillator
Make a circuit with me

Just plug in and go-go-go
I'll be your human dynamo
Signals in my power cord
Impulse on my circuit board

I'm an AC/DC man
You can read my circuit diagram
I feed on electric jolts
I need fifty-thousand volts

A sweet romance is not for me
I really need electricity
If you wanna make me flip
Come on and hit me with a micro chip

I'm an AC/DC man
You can read my circuit diagram
I feed on electric jolts
I need fifty-thousand volts

Annoying... I know...

As a sidebar to the question, I highly recommend G. K. Chesterton’s play “Magic: A Fantastic Comedy.”

Project Gutenberg has it here:

Ok. Disappointed we didn't get as much snow as they were claiming we were going to. I hate the cold, but I do like a good, solid snowfall.

Don't try and analyze it, I don't understand it either.

Oh yeah... I may be dying. Either that or I screwed something up in a bad way. Been having BP issues, back pain, neck pain, etc... Freaked out at the Doctors when my BP was 170/118 @72bpm. It's come down a lot in the past week though. Was 123/80 @68bpm this AM. Popped an exertion headache about two weeks ago. I think that may have triggered this...

More updates as I get them from the Doc.

Whoa! Have them check for signs of stroke. I will add you to the novena to Mother Teresa that I’m currently praying for the sick. (And ignore my tagline.)

How would they be able to tell if it was a stroke vs. my own annoying eccentricity? ;-)

What tagline?

For some reason it ended up on a Steampunk radio webcast. Pops up every now and then in the rotation and sticks.

Currently playing Professor Elemental's "Fighting Trousers".

(verse 1)
Dear Sir, regarding your recent foray
Into the rap business and the scene you portray
See I don't normally approve of war games
But "He's biting you" is what they all say
And by Harry, they might be right--
This is hip hop, not an Elvis night!
Shelve this Professor impersonation
Let it end now, it's impertinent waiting!
You seem a reasonable chap, what you need to do is rap
But not parody chap hop
Cause that's not proper, just not cricket!
Put away your ukulele or I'll tell where to stick it!

(hook)
I - Don't like your tweed, sir!
Will - Teach you the professor's ready!
Not - Let's see who strikes the loudest!
Lose - Put on my fighting trousers!

(verse 2)
I've got super producers and fans that play me
You've got a granddad's mustache and a ukulele
Don't look around sir, I'm speaking to you
Roll up your shirt sleeves, Queensbury rules
Never test professors with the cleverest wits
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning
When this George Formby clone is performing
Audiences go home before he begins talking
A new career might be more rewarding
I'm a right Brighton peer, you're rap's Piers Morgan

(hook)

(verse 3)
I'm not seeing you at ciphers or workshops with kids
or gigs Dear sir, you're not worthy of this!
Sold out to Coca-Cola
Used for a trend
And that means you're banned
From using a pen
Hope it's safe to assume you won't do this again
Set foot on my stage and get ruined again
Be out, Mr. B, I've set the egg timer
There's not room in town for two gentlemen rhymers
Leave town by the end of this instrumental
Yours, et cetera, et cetera, sincerely, and so forth
Professor Elemental

(hook)
