Trouble

January 17, 2013

I was glad to see the final days of the year draw to a close. It had held so much sorrow, sickness, and sadness. I was ready to welcome January with its very own brass band!

But as the first month of the new year arrived, so did one bit of sad news after another. Several friends lost their parents. My dad’s brother slipped away in his sleep. Friends discovered they had cancer. A colleague’s brother and a friend’s son both died tragically and abruptly. Rather than the sad times ceasing, the new year seemed to bring a whole new tsunami of sorrow.

John 16:33 tells us, “In the world you will have tribulation.” Even God’s children are not promised a life of ease, of prosperity, nor of good health. Yet we are never alone in our trouble. Isaiah 43:2 reminds us that when we pass through deep waters, God is with us. Although we don’t always understand God’s purposes in the trials we experience, we can trust His heart because we know Him.

Our God is a God of abundant love and “neither death nor life. . . nor things present nor things to come [will ever] separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:38-39). When trouble comes, His presence is His promise.

Swift cometh His answer, so clear and so sweet;
“Yea, I will be with thee, thy troubles to meet;
I will not forget thee, nor fail thee, nor grieve;
I will not forsake thee, I never will leave.” —Flint
Faith is believing that God is present
when all we hear is silence.

In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. —John 16:33

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly this is the story of our lives as 2013 has started.
Just learned that the 7th immediate family member has cancer. Three of my sisters have had breast cancer, two nieces, now a nephew and sister in law with stomach cancer. It is running rampant in our family.

Glad that God’s Presence is with us no matter what the storms look like around us!

Hope you found your wireless mouse Meg. My grandkids were so bad about misplacing things that I never got one. I would find the TV remote under the bed, or under the bedspread, after their visits, lol. The plug in mouse couldn’t ‘go’ anywere!

The sun was out yesterday Kitty, and I noticed that it was still light at 6:00pm.......Spring’s coming. I went to my daughter’s in Harlingen for Christmas, and think of you when I pass through the King Ranch area. You should run out in the road and say hi to me!! LOLOL

Used to buy a lot at the King Ranch store in Kingsville, but there’s nothing I need or want anymore.

My little Piper is 9 years old already, how time flies, and he seems to have arthritis in one back leg. Vet said he can do a blood test to find out. I worry about him more than about myself, lol. I remember the trouble you had with Mindy.

I can’t imagine going through potty training another puppy, it’s not an easy job. The toilet paper story is cute and I’m sure you got a laugh out of it inspite of the cleanup, lol.

I think of all of you here, Yorkie. I’ve lost my ‘get up and go’ and seldom post, but when I do I often find it lifts my spirits. The people on Amy’s Place threads are the kindest, most loving people. (BIG HUGS)

LOL, DD! Bailey knows he's not 'kitten' size, doesn't he?

I have a friend who has three weimaraners, and as soon as he sits down in his recliner, and puts the foot rest out, all three of them become 'lap dogs'! Each has it's own 'space' on his legs, thighs and tummy.

Can you imagine THREE of these guys as 'lap dogs' at the same time? LOL!

You’re Necessary

January 18, 2013

The story has been told about a conductor who was rehearsing his orchestra. The organ was giving a beautiful melody, the drums were thundering, the trumpets were blaring, and the violins were singing beautifully. But the conductor noticed something missing—the piccolo. The piccolo player had gotten distracted and hoped his instrument wouldn’t be missed. The conductor reminded him: “Each one of us is necessary.”

This was essentially the same message Paul communicated to the Corinthian believers in his first letter to them (12:4-7). Every Christian plays an important role in the body of Christ. Paul gave a list of gifts of the Spirit and compared their use to the functioning of the various parts of the human body for the good of the whole (vv.8-10). The Corinthian believers may have had different cultural backgrounds, gifts, and personalities, but they were filled with the same Spirit and belonged to the same body of Christ. Paul made special mention of the parts of the body that were weak and obscure, and taught that all believers play a necessary and significant role. No one part was more necessary than any other.

Remember, Jesus has given you a significant part to play and will use you to build up His people.

The church, a living body, containing all the parts—
It lives, it moves, it functions, and touches many hearts;
When each part is committed to do the Savior’s will,
His members are united, His purpose they fulfill. —Fitzhugh
As a member of the body of Christ,
you are a necessary part of the whole.

Read: 1 Corinthians 12:14-26

But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it. —1 Corinthians 12:24

Glad you liked it, the old songs are not for naught, they just need tweaking to update the music.

“...In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. —John 16:33”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tribulation is never welcomed, it is hard, difficult, sad painful, a testing of our strength and character.
Such is life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. —John 16:33”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope. Wonderful HOPE ...LOVE, HOPE, FAITH, PRAYER is how the Lord carries us through tough times.
Thank the LORD, for the treasure of His Word in the Torah ... and the Holy Bible, and through the HOLY SPIRIT.
Faith is holding on to the knowledge of the LORD God, Jesus Christ and the Bible as guide and director of everything we meet in life. There are layers of knowledge and they each must be studied and learned and accepted as the guiding star of life.
LOOK at the chaos of this world. Disingrating societies all around ... Faith can move mountains. The Lord Jeus said” be of GOOD CHEER, I have over the world"
Rest in this truth. Daily read the WORD of God. It has all the answers ... that must be matured into understanding, depending on dedication of our heart, with God's help and prayer.
