Bookmark the correct ‘Yahoo’ and you’re set. You might have a virus or ad tracker spam crap. I would run SuperAntiSpyware or Malwarebytes program to check for bugs.

You’re redirected to one of Yahoo’s data centers - one that is close to your location and has low traffic. Akadns (Akamai DNS) is the service provider which manages the redirection decisions.

You have been infected with the akadns virus.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THIS BY YOURSELF.

I have Freepmailed you my PayPal address. After I receive the $500.00 I will send you instructions on how to remove this dreaded virus.

Check your primary, secondary and tertiary dns server settings.

Remember the worm/hack whatever from a while back ?

It changed the IP addresses the OS was using for dns (getting the right IP for a domain name) to a “bad server”, that returned the bad guy’s IP where he was hosting lookalike sites that grabbed passwords, etc.

If the user, in their browser, navigated to say, www.mybank.com, they’d be actually looking at a man-in-the-middle server.

That particular attack is supposed to be over at this point (government took over the bad guy’s bad servers and fixed them). But man-in-the-middle attacks are not over.

Just check with your internet provider to find out what IPs they want you to point at as your dns nameserver, and make sure windows is pointing at them.

I’m not the guy to ask about how to do that in windows.

Run Malwarebytes and if you use a router ...
... reset it via the tiny button in the back (hold in for 10-15 seconds) then reset your password.

You were probably shopping for an akadns. I think Amazon had them with free shipping on Cyber Monday.

Just kidding. If you google akadns you’ll see what others have run into.

Looks like you were just temporarily rerouted due to server overload or problems.
