This is just wrong. If you can afford to go out for dinner you can afford a tip. Your waitperson is working, just like you, they have a job and are doing it.
You want to punish the Liberal elite, stop going to movies, Buy Ford instead of GM or Chrysler, don't contribute to PBS and NPR. But don't take it out on someone that is working.
If you rob a bank (and I’m not suggesting that anybody do) ask the teller who he or she voted for.

We cancelled cable yesterday. As soon as the contract is up I am cancelling all cell phones. We can use the land line instead. It seems to me everyone was happier without all the phones. I’m trimming everything down to necessities only. Things will not be too good in the future and though it hurts to say it my kids need to learn some lessons on having fun in more traditional ways.
We may see the day when a large home cooked meal is a luxury, celebration and a true gift.(not that it is not now, but you get the point). Stay safe and be prepared.
Idea #2 will just make servers think conservatives are jerks. Bad, bad idea.

not the way to win friends and influence people
Yesterday I was in Home Depot with my husband. We had a flat cart with 6 bags of concrete and some boards for framing. I was pushing the cart and my husband was loading.
We got in line behind a man who was also buying lumber and I left a little room between us so our boards wouldn't smack and people could move around us.
A Mexican woman with some paint and painting supplies angled herself to cut right in front of me! I politely said, "Hi. I am next." I could see the side of her face and she was barely 10 feet away from me and she ignores me and edges forward!
I was suddenly overcome with a nice guys finish last feeling and when the man with construction supplies started to leave... I shoved my 400 pound cart with all my strength and the woman was forced to back up quickly to keep from being mowed down.
I am not pushy. I am usually the calm and patient person in the room! I'm the lady that says, "I'm in no hurry, you go ahead." But at that moment I almost irrationally was overcome with the feeling that nice people never win and honest Christian's will always be taken advantage of... and I kinda saw red.
At that moment I wanted to Occupy something! I wanted to poop on a police car. I wanted to be the one fanatically screaming about insults to my religion, and threatening violent irrational retaliation.
Today I feel mostly back to my normal respectable self, but I will admit I liked that the Mexican woman gave me a very wide berth in the parking lot. She walked well out of her way and when she passed she avoided looking me in the eye. It felt good.
Send New Year Greetings to Obama supporters you know. Thanking them for the round of 2013 Obama Taxes that won’t get dropped because Obamacare won’t get repealed. If they need a job tell them to apply to the IRS because they’ill be needing 18,000 new agents to get that from the 27 year old single moms ordered to payup on a non exisiting healthcare policy.
This is insanity. #2 is just an affront to working people — think how a “waitress mom” would feel after you stiffed her. #3 is the very definition of a false equivalency. I don’t give a flying rat’s petootie who the landscaper or arborist or roofer voted for. Their judgment about politics has nothing to do with their judgments on the job. Finally, #1 is across the board overkill and sends no message at all. If you want to change things, try thinking positive actions rather than negative.

You might try calling the White House at: (phone number) and ask Obama for your tip.” Leave this on the table whenever you go out to eat at restaurants or places where tips are customarily given. “

I understand your anger—believe me, I feel it too.
However, I worked as a waitress at two places in college (including the night shift at an IHop, dealing with drunk students coming out of the bars), and I can’t get on board with this particular idea.
People who wait tables work very hard—and they rely on tips for most of their income. Plus, your waiter or waitress may have voted for Romney-Ryan.
This whole election has been an unbelievable disaster. I never expected this outcome.

” Thank you for the service and for working hard for a living. Tips may be getting smaller these days due to all the tax increases. However, by not reporting your tips to the tax man, you can prevent the government from giving your hard earned money to those too lazy to work.”
I think your anger is, though understandable, misplaced. The waiter/waitress is WORKING!!!!!!! The waitress is trying her best to get ahead in life and achieve the America Dream. If you can afford to eat out and the service is completely satisfactory you should be leaving a bigger tip... the lesson being that hard work pays off.
Otherwise, you come off as an a$$clown and imprint the Democrat philosophy on the server: Why work hard dealing with obnoxious a$$clowns such as yourself while standing on my feet for 12 straight hours when I can just say screw it and get government money for sitting at home watching the Flintstones?
A 'hint' for all, most cable companies will have a basic/basic service - that isn't advertised anywhere - you need to ask.
We pay under $8 a month for basic/basic cable - it's only local channels (most will offer this because satellite providers didn't have local channels)
Bonus*when the cable company has "free preview" weekends - you do too.
All tv programs and brand new/old movies can be watched on the internet.
