I'm seeing a lot of comments today along the lines of, " The red states should consider secession", and "Civil War 2 is coming".
To those saying such things: I can only hope that you're self-aware enough to realize that you're simply venting. There isn't the slightest chance that the US is going to break up in the next 4 years because of the re-election of Obama.
On the off-chance I'm wrong, please contact me in advance of your attack on Fort Sumter.
Yes, and we need a lot of heartwarming recently :p
For the record, the OP, Joseph Harrolds, has left the building...permanently.
Even a 5 MONTH limit would have stopped this one.
thanks TOL.

Sayonara!
Bombers are targets.
N00bie with a vanity about some states leaving is the same as a troll leaving FR via ZOT!
I should post Barbara Manatee for your vanity manatee.
Call it what ever you want but odds are there will be blood in the streets with states setting up boarder controls.

Oh darn, too bad he didn't fill out and submit a feedback form first:
“A few years back, Texas was toying with the idea..:
Gov. Perry said that as a joke and it won’t go away. When Texas joined the union, we kept the right to secede. Looks like we were independent survival types back then, too. If you mess with us, we’ll go it alone.
Dream on....
You’re right on one thing: Ft. Sumpter won’t be fired on. I’m 100% certain of that.
Other than that, what was the point of your vanity?
“I wouldn’t say that the talk of secession is because of the re-election of Obama, because that gives him far too much credit.”
He’s just the in your face messenger. Obama is easily survivable. The electoral majority that decided they want welfare instead of opportunity...not so much.
“If we talk in those terms, we have actually given up the fight to change things through the changing of minds, which ought not be willing to do.”
Interesting idea, but here is the problem with your analysis: the takers aren’t interested. They aren’t interested in opportunity. They aren’t interested in jobs. They aren’t interested in self sufficiency. They aren’t interested in what we’re selling. What they’re interested in is a welfare check. Bread and circuses. And absent a complete breakdown in the society, they’re not going to change their tune.
The mistake that conservatives are continuing to make is in thinking that Sodom and Gomorrah can be convinced to mend the error of their ways. That they can somehow be dragged along in an American revival that they want nothing to do with. Our responsibility is to our own. Or to quote Stonewall Jackson: “ duty is ours, consequences are Gods.”
“Correction: at least the Kenyan (cant) give it away.”
Why not? They did that in Argentina.
“Check out newbie’s posting history.”
Now ain’t that sumpthin? Wait a sec...
(sniff, sniff)
You smell that? Kinda smells like just before a lightning strike. That sort of ozone smell.
I don’t think the democrats would fight...
