Here is question of the day: Is this genuine praise or is Christie looking to run for president in four years? I suggest both.
Regardless, widespread perception that Obama is doing a good job in response to Sandy, fueled by gushing praise from Christie may be enough to tip Virginia into the Obama column, and the election right with it.

Treason, with extreme cowardice.
I, for one, love Christie’s attitude.
He has to play footsie with the feds to get the money his state needs to recover. To do otherwise would be foolish.
But he also refused, in stark Christie terms, to play politics when circumstances demanded he lead his state during crisis. The guy has his head on straight, and we need more like him.
Maybe I'm naive, but I don't see how Obama being perceived as doing a good job with disaster response in New Jersey is going to change somebodies vote in Virginia. I just can't see somebody saying, unemployment is terrible, the debt is out of control, the president blew it in Libya, I was going to vote Romney, but wow...the president sure looked good giving that disaster speech in New Jersey, I'm going to have to stay with him!
Time to end that sort of thing ~ BTW, remember the parking lot filled to the brim with yellow school buses that could have taken NO peeps to safety? They showed a video of a very large parking lot filled with yellow taxis somewhere in New York.
Shake my head at this non-sense. Nobody in Virginia cares about what Christie has to say, nobody.
Christie is the Governor. He is doing what he has to, to get help for NJ. That is HIS job!
Your comments about the way a president should perform would work if we were dealing with a mature man, but Obama is a petulant child, and hold grudges. Given that Christie has not been terribly gracious recently, he probably felt he needed to massage Obama’s ego to make sure his state was treated fairly.
I think Turncoat Christie has ruined any chances he had as a GOP candidate for President.
Oh BS. You obviously aren’t paying attention to who has been chosen in 2012. The biggest GOP disaster in history for YEARS and he was still chosen. If Christie is our nominee in 2016, FREEPERS will slobber all over him just as they are Romney.
His remarks are self serving...he and O should have a fun day today...maybe they’ll become bro-friends. Birds of a feather flock together...
Ya gotta admit he is pimping himself a bit....
I don’t think Christie has any influence in VA either, but my advise to Christie is to STHU, please. Thanks and acknoledgement are fine, gushing is assinine.
I live in Texas and have a lot of information on Christie — even before he became Gov of NJ. Too many people think he is a Rep/Consevative. He isn’t — he is definitely a Rino.
His comments were completely innocuous to the election. He was being gracious. The storm response will not save Obamas election. Christie was being authentic, to do otherwise would have tagged him as making Sandy political. A neutral action. No prob
I don’t think Gov. Christie saying a nice thing about the President is going to matter a whit to voters in Virginia.
He was just trying to be the adult in the room.
I do not live on the East or West coast but I keep up with Christie. He’s a Rino and will go to the White House any time he can. So glad he is supporting Obama today (sarc)
Oil Spill Commission Blasts Obama Administration Response to Spill
Oh, for Pete’s sake, what was Christie supposed to say? Obama holds the purse strings. Christie is truly grateful that Obama opened his purse and cut through some of the red tape.
You cannot even imagine the mess that Christie may be dealing with in NJ. All we have heard about is the domestic impact. I bet that there is a huge industrial impact, as well. Think of all those coal terminals and other hazardous manufacturing and shipping sites along the Jersey coast. It’s not all beaches, you know.
The more I see of Motormouth Blowhard Christie, the less I like him.
As I alluded, he may have been following that GOPe need to seem fair, but even granting that, he went too far.
