Here is question of the day: Is this genuine praise or is Christie looking to run for president in four years? I suggest both.
Regardless, widespread perception that Obama is doing a good job in response to Sandy, fueled by gushing praise from Christie may be enough to tip Virginia into the Obama column, and the election right with it.

Columnists like this need to be held accountable for their scaremongering after the election.
Most of the country has never heard of Chris Christie. Why would people outside of NJ, NY, and PA care what he said?
Shedlock is a Democrat.
No...the writer prays to his god that it does but it does not. Peopl ehave made up their minds and they will fire the man.
No and why even post this nonsense by a non-entity?
I know Christie has to walk a fine line and be fair to the President but its Obama’s job to make sure FEMA responds to these kinds of emergencies. I think Chris has gone way beyond whats required especially 7 days before the election.
Just personally I have never liked the guy and I don’t trust him. He needs to shut up and help Mitt win.
No.,... I think Obummer’s veiled threat to essentially kill the defense industry in VA will make a bigger impact. Everyone knows that Christie is emotional and a bit of an iconoclast.
Plus, this guy is a Blogspot writer. I know many fine ones, but there are many more not-fine ones.
I am so tired of pundits and talking heads pouncing on every little thing and giving it more value than it has. Just. Shut. Up.
I guess people have forgotten about Obama’s anemic response to the tornadoes that hit the mid-section of the country in March and April of this year.
I believe the death toll was about equal to Sandy. Entire towns were wiped off the map back then too.
He’s asking the same question I did when I heard Christie.
Meh. Obama’s handling of this will play well in the solid blue states. Virginia? Fuggetaboutit.
Beautiful opportunity for Romney - compare and contrast 0’s response to Sandy and Benghazi.
I think Turncoat Christie has ruined any chances he had as a GOP candidate for President. The Tea Party types including me will note his Sandy-Actions and not forget or forgive.
His is an economic blog and he doesn’t discuss politics much. I think he’s a libertarian. That’s why I was a little surprised by his comments.
Chris is the governor and is acting the part.
Republicans win when they are gracious, positive
and act like responsible adults.
Being seen to be taking advantage of this disaster would put Republicans in a bad light.
So, Virginia is supposed to forget obama’s pooh pooing of the naval ships and vote for obama because a RINO is heaping praise on him for basically doing nothing?
Christie went overboard, i dont know why. A Democrat would have made up grievances if it was a Republican President. He didnt have to do that, but he didnt need to gush. He could have simply recognized that the President is doing what we expect him to do, just as Romney will when he is President.
I completely agree with you. He has been “effusive” in his praise. Having the _resident do his job is indeed shocking, but going on and on about how great he is just for doing his job is making me nauseated. Thanking the muslim for his help would be plenty. The rest is BS! I never could stand this RINO and this is just another reason why. If I were Romney, I’d be plenty pissed!
Really don't think it works that way folks ~
I’m with Mark Levin - - I don’t like Christie.
