But where in the old world were these places on todays maps? I know where Austria is but Lycia in Antalaya’s Fininike district? Some reference would be very helpfull.
This is in southwestern Turkey for those of us who don’t know the local place names.
As Turkey slides more and more into Islaminization this becomes increasing less likely.
In fact continued archaeological work in that area (and survival of the site!) becomes less likely, because to the Islamists there is ‘no history prior to Mad Mo’!
What makes them certain it is a synagogue and not an early Christian site?
