One of my cats, Whitey, is sick. Until last Friday, she's been very active and eating a lot until she became kind of skittish and aloof and cut back on her eating. She sleeps a lot and still drinks water but eats sporatically. I think it could be a hyperactive thyroid, I had a similar experience with another cat where she was put on meds and responded well and lived a few years afterward. My other guess is maybe bad teeth, but I point towards the former. I'm hoping it is that or at least something that is treatable. I'm just asking for prayers and well wishes as I take her to the vets tomorrow. She is 11 years old and one time when Obama came on the TV, she swatted at him and hissed. B-)
It is never easy.
So so sorry for you loss. I know it hurts bad real bad.
I’m very sorry for your loss. Prayers up for you and yours for comfort in your sorrow.
Adding my condolences on your loss.
My sister lost her 15 year old kitty this summer.
I saw Sissy yesterday and she still mentions her dear Drac (short for Dracula, he liked to nuzzle her neck) whenever I see her.
I read once that dogs and cats live shorter lives than us, so we may have the priviledge of knowing more cats and dogs during our lives.
It’s been 2 years since we lost our dog to a heart condition. Time makes the pain go away. We also adopted a dog a few weeks later who needed a good home. We like to do that to help heal our hearts.
(hugs)
Very sorry. I still miss, and cry for, two we lost — in 2001 and 2007.
We have 7-1/2 cats. (The “1/2” is the feral mom of the three babies we rescued and brought inside. We feed her and watch out for her.)
I’m glad Whitey was a patriot. Our oldest cat is as well. We have pics of her in 2002 watching GW Bush on TV. Whenever he was on, she’d run to the TV and watch until he was gone.
Whitey (and Duchess and Homer) are waiting at Rainbow Bridge.
I’m so sorry, NM. I’ll be thinking of you.
My sincere condolences for your loss. May God comfort you and your family. Someday you’ll be reunited with Whitey at The Rainbow Bridge.

Typing with tears. Our little pets are such a part of us. Whitey was loved and she felt your love till the end. Love what you’ll be doing when you vote for Romney! Whitey will be right there with you in spirit.
I am deeply sorry for your loss. Prayers up.
So sorry for your loss....Whitey will be waiting for you..
I did talk to my vet today about Whitey and he also treated her for high blood pressure and he seems to think that she developed a blood clot in her hind legs and that is what took her life. She had trouble with walking the last day of her life and later on, her breathing. This is speculation but we seem to think that we got her kidneys under control only to have this take her life. Still it is hard but at least it gives me some comfort that we did all we could do for her. As I cast my vote for Romney, I’ll be thinking of her.
I pray it will get better.
You are a good person to care for Whitey so well. She is in heaven.
I have not been on the boards in some time so I’m late seeing this, but I am so sorry for your loss. I will pray that each day brings less pain and sorrow and a little more joy.
Whitey was lucky to have such a loving companion (we dare not say owner when referring to a cat!).
I hope Spunky and Rascal will comfort you...animals seem to know when you need them most.
God Bless!
