'But there was like a tail, and a foot and leg sticking out of the garbage can and they wheeled it straight back into the kitchen.'

The restaurant owner's son admitted they had found the roadkill along the side of the I-75 but insisted they had not intended to serve it to their customers.

Marveling at the irony with disgust Ms Hopkins said: 'We were actually joking about the, you know, the whole Chinese restaurant. You know some rumors that you hear.'

Stomachs turned at a Chinese restaurant in Kentucky last week when in the middle of enjoying a buffet lunch, customers noticed a rubbish bin full of roadkill being wheeled into the kitchen.

Locals and regulars of the Red Flower Restaurant in Williamsburg couldn't believe their eyes as they watched the owner's son and an employee pushing a clumsily concealed deer carcass through the dining room as it dripped blood all over the floor.

In a useless attempt to avoid unwanted attention, the men had tried to hide the dead animal under a box, but to all watching, the shocking truth was plain to see.

Red Flower regular, Tonya Thacker admitted she vomited straight away after witnessing the gut-wrenching scene.

'I don't think I'll ever eat Chinese food again,' she said.

Another diner, Katie Hopkins, described how 'two of the workers came in wheeling a garbage can and they had a box sitting on top of it. And hanging out of the garbage can, they were trying to be real quick with it so that nobody could see it.

This might have been a purposeful stunt.

If and when that happens, not only cats, but the rat and mice population would be greatly diminished.
People may laugh at this but this is the reality of what could happen.
Just think in a economic collapse, no food stores will be restocked, no gas pumps working, no fuel being delivered to gas stations, no banks would be open, the factories would either be closed or on limited production run shifts if at all and everyone would have to fend for themselves.

As long as it's fresh and not all busted up, there's nothing wrong with an individual using roadkill for personal consumption.

Obviously, the restaurant staff missed that part about personal consumption. They were probably in violation of some law concerning intent to sell a game animal. Probably also a technical game violation just being in possession of a game animal without a license.

Yes, but I think there is a big issue with gutting and butchering an animal, road kill or otherwise, for their own consumption or not, in a kitchen were other food is being prepared and served to the public, i.e. cross contamination.

And while not a hunter myself I’ve been friends with quite a few. Most field dress i.e. gut and drain the kill or some do it in some sort of out building, but not, never in their kitchen, that’s a big no no. Heck even most fishermen (and fisherwomen) I’ve known gut their fish outside or in the garage.
