The pink thing and I had a minor falling-asleep incident, but we rcovered. Now she is biting a brother.

That's what brothers are for.

How is the sweet little bundle?

Just wanted to check in. I keep falling asleep. We’re still getting green tomatoes (Mr. Sg pulled the remaining plants today—we need a wood chipper). Six green bell peppers, one purple one, a few jalapenos, enough green beans to feed four people, and a big bunch of curly parsley harvested, and two baby cantaloupes still on the vine. I don’t get the growing seasons around here. Worked in the rock garden and it looks lovely so far. Sat on new deck w/a home brew (light Belgian ale) and the butterfly and dragonfly solar lights contrasted pleasantly with the diamonds in the sky. Dreamy.
Now off to vacuum and do dishes.
Sweet dreams, my dear FRiends....

Photobucket

Here's a little fall shrubbery to liven up the thread. It's the rare and wondrous Facebood Tree. Watch out for spiders.

I was thinking something akin to this...

http://www.defensereview.com/defrev-update-centrifuge-weapon-system-tech-for-future-warfare-applications/

With a large enough asteroid as a gravitational “anchor”, you could put a large launch tube on it. Ion rockets or more GNCR’s on the end of the tube would impart a lot of moment along the arm of the launch tube. You would get a lot of velocity for a pretty cheap energy cost. It’d also give you artificial gravity on the “inside” of the asteroid for a crew compliment.

Drop a rock along the zero g axis, push it into the tube, and let timing and the centrifuge do the rest...

Very busy! Job is still on-going and business picked up considerably. I have also started to cough which means that I have been pushing it a bit hard.

What is causing the dizzy spells?

Article says it doesn’t generate any recoil impulse.

If true, not very effective at moving asteroids. Defending them, perhaps.

Speaking of defense, one of my ideas is to bring a rapidly moving chunk of rock into near Earth orbit. Several, actually.

Then if a larger rock mosies in, we could retarget the rapidly moving rock to impact the interloper.

Maybe better to park them out at L4 and L5.

Or perhaps posteriorly?

I had a whiplash injury in my 20’s, and the only thing that stopped the neck-related headaches was a chi kung form that took me six months to learn. If I could send you the name of it, I would, but my sifu didn’t speak much English so I never learned it. His style was Tiger-Crane if you have any access to KF masters in your area.
