They are cherry picked and grossly misinterpreted because clearly 1 John in context says otherwise. Are you gettin angry with me fabie? Jesus called that sin. Look at a pretty woman? Jesus called that adultery. 1 John is correct - for any to say they are without sin is a lie.
And as for Rv. 21:27, which is erroneously placed with the truncated 3Jn. 1:11, this also is in the continual sense of practice, characterizing the lost. And as even evil thoughts and foolishness defile, (Mk. 7:21-23) no one who sinned after being born again could be admitted according to the absolutist interpretation.
But we know that men who had the Holy Spirit did, from David to Peter did, while it is the elitist crowd who say they never have sins to confess (which can include sins of ignorance) that are defiled, as that is foolishness and a product of deceit which also defiles.
I did ask you to use your own words because your mind is a master at using scripture to try and disprove obvious verses in scripture.
So you get an F mnus on that. Way too many words too...you lose people with all of that. And that is a contruct of your mind too...the clearly obvious message from John that we are to sin no more...he did not say practice sin and neither did Jesus when he told Mary of Mag. To go and sin no more. He knew she had the belief and therefore the power from God to obey and he never would have told her that if it were not possible to accomplish. Fact.
And yes we do have repentance when we do sin of course, but John, Peter and others knew that is before the time of salvation. Once God seals us into His army it is simple and easy to not sin. Anything other than that is giving victory and power to satan that he just does not have. God has the power and shares it, to have people live totally victorious of the devil. And how could it be any other given the power of God. Sorry, but you guys are missing it badly.

Godzilla & Daniel,
So you see how this works. Being confronted with direct evidence, evidence that would draw a conviction in court, has no effect. I think it was Elsie who mentioned it way back somewhere, there is this program called Eliza. It purports to be an artificial intelligence experiment that could make you think you were in a real conversation, but really the program was just using keywords to walk you through a very small set of possible responses. Once you realized you were covering the same ground again and again and again, talking to “Eliza” became unbearable, like being forced to watch random reruns of Gilligan’s Island, always thinking you’re about to get off the island, but it never happens.
As with Eliza, the present conversation is following extraordinarily predictable behavior. This actually follows logically from Masters’ teaching re sin. In a paradox, although the stated goal of of the practice of BS (Be Still) is to detach from the trauma of being human and rise above it to the exalted state of true objectivity, the reality is, that to accomplish this, the practitioner must become supremely subjective. The normal meaning of the words becomes perfectly inverted.
This gives the practitioner of BS an extreme tactical advantage in any debate. How can you ever lose a debate where there is no arbiter, no objective, external reference point? No way to ever be proven wrong.
So you see, the inevitable victory of the BSer is built in. Evidence is irrelevant. Only the will to keep on being perfect matters. And that guard can never be let down. If Polycarp proves the early church accepted the deity of Christ, that would shake the foundations of the perfect self image. If John and Paul and any other Bible authors say things that raise doubts, those doubts disturb the self-hypnotic suggestion that the BS follower has been sealed into God’s army by their esoteric self knowledge, and therefore those doubts must be suppressed.
It chills me to think how hard it must be, internally, to get backed into a corner where you can never grow in self knowledge, lest the mask come off. But the predictable result is a self imposed reduction of thought to predictable patterns designed to avoid contact with prohibited truths. The Eliza Sindrome, if you will.
So predictable, in fact, that for any given post you write, no matter how richly adorned with wisdom and insight, no matter how honorably offered, you could write the BSer’s response post yourself. You already know, within a small set of possibilities, what will be said, what will be ignored. Almost down to the word count.
Which is why I counsel you, my fellow soldiers for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that it may be time to consider whether our pearls might be better appreciated elsewhere. Obviously, if God has burdened you with this ministry, you have to honor that. But for me, its time to stop wasting time talking to a program. Unlike me, God is all powerful, and can open a closed heart. Nothing prevents us from praying. It is in the realm of miracles that this will be resolved. IMHO.
Peace,
SR
“So you see, the inevitable victory of the BSer is built in. Evidence is irrelevant.”
Oh please...give me a break. You guys intellectually use the bible against itself and commonsense and think you have some sort of victory or some such. It is clearly obvious that God’s power is sufficient to end sin in human’s lives once salvation is accepted. Anything short of that is a belief that the devil is indeed more powerful than the work of Jesus and God. Fact. Fact it and stop rationalizing your weakness with the bible!
No actually you could not write the “bs’ers” point yourself if you tried...as you rudely put my insights. Because your arguments are constructs of your mind and excuses, using the scripture as a legitimate way to escape the simple truths discussed. But nothing in these regards are simple to your mind. They must not be least the reality of truth seep in and convict your hypocrisies. Have a good one!
Nice doggy!
I’m reading all your posts and would very much like to jump into the discussion taking place here. daniel, this post of yours is particularly informative and clearly explained, so that even the simplest among us can comprehend, if the Holy Spirit gives us understanding. 2 Timothy 2:15 wasn’t given to us to fill up extra space. We ARE able to STUDY, RIGHTLY DIVIDE, and UNDERSTAND God’s Word for ourselves. Depending on the Holy Spirit to lead us, and not man. Never man.

Amen smvoice! and thankyou daniel for your effort, work and pings to these posts,it is very much appreciated.God bless you friend!
As far as having no sin goes I will say that I am so glad our High Priest lives forever to intercede for us because our enemy is constantly accusing us before God.And I don't believe that he stands before God and outright lies to His face.He (satan)wants us dragged down by the weight of our own weakness but Jesus tells us that He Himself is there constantly interceding for us so that we may come to the throne of grace (unmerited favor).Peter tells us to lean fully on God's grace (1 Peter 1:13)why would we need to do that if we no longer have sin?
Anyone who thinks he no longer sins is disconnected from reality and has no idea of the depths we are in,all of us.As I've said before, this is akin to standing on the surface of the sun expecting to cast a shadow.
"...for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night." (Rev 12:10)
"Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them" (Hebrews 7:25)
Grace and peace to us all,God knows we need it.
Absolutely and the biblical Be Still exercise connects us in a real and silent way to the holy spirit. No one here has effer effectivly refuted my main point that Jesus told Mary to go and sin no more and John said after being reborn we not longer sin. He did not say PRACTICING. Sin, that is just a lame excuse and contruct of todays lost church. Do us a favor here and be honest and admit that we do indeed have power to stop sinning with Jesus but you poor souls simply have not found it. Why this big batlle? Why not just admit the obvious? And it is very obvious to many.
Excellent point. Thanks.
Good points! Amen.
Well analyzed!
* Oh please...give me a break.
> Don’t you ever say Hello?
* Ok; “Hello. My name is Fabian.
> Names don’t interest me.
* Are you interested in learning how not to sin any more?
> Would you prefer if I were not interested in learning how not to sin any more?
* Maybe; but why do you quote the bible?
> We were discussing you, not me.
* ...and so it goes...
> Tell me more.
Thank you for not judging.
