It seems that the networks hate their viewers and want us to forget about the shows we like and move on to something else! (just kidding, but not really).
Yeah, I have no idea, the seasons are all confusing these days. I miss the good old days when you knew when the seasons ran, you knew summers were for reruns and almost all shows got a good amount of time to pick up a following. It’s like the people who make the decisions nowadays have lost their minds.
Cable series tend to have short seasons of 6 to 10 episodes.
If a program is successful in cable viewership numbers, the networks tend to increase the number of episodes the next year. They may divide the year into two shorter seasons of 6 to 12 episodes each.
Regular network TV tends to have about 22 episodes per year. Newer series have as few as 13 episodes, as a test to see whether they gain viewers. Even in the regular year of 22 episodes, the network may split the year, inserting reruns or even new test programs during breaks. Of course, sometimes, the breaks kill the regular programs, because the replacements lose viewership and the regular program loses viewer interest.
Same thing happened to me. I loved that show at first. But, like almost all British and Canadian shows, they always end up going gay and promoting some liberal agenda. I am enjoying Continuum (a Canadian sci-fi show) so far, but I am afraid it is going to eventually head into "anti-corporation" and "anti-capitalism" territory.
what channel has “Continuum”?
It will probably be on SyFy next year.
