This really isn't my thing, but I thought I'd reach out to a great community for some support. My grandfather is going through an operation, maybe two, to clear out his arteries. Doctors have confirmed with my dad and uncle yesterday that he'll be a DNR should it not work.
What makes it worse is that my father wants me at the hospital, but I'd rather not go to deal with it my own way, because quite frankly I'd don't need to cry for a whole day and if that happens, well, I've had much time to reflect on my life and I don't know what I'd do in such a depressive state.
I don't really care if my dad sees this, his handle is 'wiggen' on here. As far as he's concerned, it's his way or it's wrong.
But I'm gonna go talk to a local priest so I can try to keep my spirits as high as possible, rather than letting them fall and let my mind be open to some... pretty dark things.
Praying for dear Harry.
Prayers up for all of you.
Prayers sent for all.
Praying for Harry
It’s not a problem, I don’t mind.
As an update, the operation went well, but I personally don’t know how well my grandfather is doing (writing this near 1:30am; this is going to be a crappy week because my best friend lost his the same day I almost lost mine, this passed Saturday).
For Tuesday they’re going to try to put him in a wheelchair and give him solid food. I’m thinking he’s probably going to be there for a little while; he recognized my uncle, and moved when my sister said something a couple of days ago.
I can’t thank you all enough for the prayers. I’m guessing my grandmother said that it’s not his time yet (and they probably had an argument about that for 15 minutes: my mother said he was dead for about 17 minutes on Saturday). If he can move on his own and be lucid while having conversations, that’s more than we can ask for.
But again, thank you all for the prayers. I’m gonna check the rest of the posts on this thread, and a couple of other threads on here before I decide to pass out. This past weekend has been pretty rough, but eh, not like I’ve been able to sleep for the last 13 years.
