Total Recall can only be better than it was the fist time.

Off topic but I see that CBS is rebooting the Brady Bunch.

No “Footloose”? I haven’t actually watched the remake, but the few previews with modern music seemed horrible. Also, “Fled”, which was a remake of “The Defiant Ones”, was absolute trash.
Also, since we’re on the subject, what about good remakes, since there are a few of those too? Some remakes I liked were Cape Fear, the Ladykillers, and 12 Monkeys. Anyone else got some good ones?

I LOVED the original Rollerball. I watched the remake and I despised it so much that it became a running joke between me and the folks at the video rental store.
When they saw me come in they would say “Rollerball Sucks!”.

Flight of the Phoenix. A 6th grader could have made a better movie.

Death Race 2000. The first one was absolutely hilarious, though it could have used better production values.
The remake was exactly the same in that it had the same name and there were cars in it.

Are you a Wes Anderson fan or did you just see that on a lark?

Because it is.

The remake of "Flight of the Phoenix," trying to replace Jimmy Stewart, Richard Attenborough, Peter Finch, Ernest Borgnine, Ronald Fraser, etc., with Dennis Quaid and jokey unknowns. Also substituting Mongols so as not to offend the original Arab villans. Horrifyingly bad remake.
Runner-up for stupid try: remake of "The Time Machine," substituting racially-diverse wise tree-kissers for the Eloi. Ugh.

Disney should re-make the Wizard of Oz.. starring Jackie Evancho, Anna Graceman and Emily Bear.. Those three girls could write some of the songs and perform them.. Each holding a different role in the film.. It would be a BLOCKBUSTER...
All three are musical Superstars.. and Anna and Emily have proven performance with melodies and lyrics.. And who can sing like Jackie.?... If Disney doesn’t do this someone should be fired.. These three girls are National Treasures.. This would/could be the best re-make of all time..

The Keanu Reeves remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still was mind-numbingly horrible. I saw it on cable and kept getting up to do other things —like sweep the floor — rather than watch it.
