Games We Play





There seems to be something amiss within my wild and wonderful Preserve
Some slight, unwelcome addition to its aromas and scents that might unnerve
A lesser Majestic Creature who may not possess the proper 'Cat-i-tude'
Of thinking those who poach and trespass are both ignorant and crude

Unaware of the delightful beauty that is spread out in all directions
They clump and dart and slither along while coming under close inspection
Small and quick like me, or long and slender, they think they can elude my senses
While I raise my nose and sniff the air and decide how to nullify their defenses
With my ears turned up and twisting, I can determine where they might arrive

As I strategically determine from where to pounce and see if they survive
Especially the elusive Cotton and Fluffy Tails who have a propensity to thrive
Sometimes interrupted by diving, noisy Birds who add to the discourse
In this close to Daily Game, where subtlety means much more than force
