Anaheim police were investigating a violent melee Saturday night between police officers and an angry crowd. Authorities said the crowd threw bottles and set fires at an intersection, and police used non-lethal force to disperse them. Sgt. Bob Dunn of the Anaheim Police Department said the incident started when two patrol officers tried to approach three men in an alley about 4 p.m. in the 600 block of North Anna Drive and the men fled.

Yeah? Like that was possible with a mob of half crazed “citizens”. n/s
Tell that to innocent Citizens who have their front door smashed by cops busting into the wrong house.
Welcome to Free Republic. I hope your IQ is high enough to last more than a few weeks. Asking asinine questions may not be the best way to accomplish that.
When the neighbors are all members of the thug culture (or the majority are,) and part of the culture is never rat on your neighbor whether they are criminals or not, and the odds of getting an accurate version of the entire event are laughable, then it is extremely logical that the criminals which prompt law enforcement to shoot them is not a rocket science mystery.
The police don't randomly go into a neighborhood looking for someone to shoot. Resisting arrest is the easiest bad experience to defuse.
Just cooperate. If you have a case to prosecute abuse, there is plenty of time without opting for "suicide by cop."
You convoluted your answer.....you need to get out of the box and quit pretending to be all knowing.
I was once arrested for non payment of child support despite the fact that I don’t have kids. I explained that I didn’t have kids but didn’t resist.
I spent several hours at the police station but was well treated and even taken back to my car when it was cleared up. The cop didn’t even call a wrecker to tow my car because it was out of the way and the situation would be cleared up one way or the other.
It was a court screw up and no fault of the police or myself.
I hope the dog didn’t catch anything from the “protesters”
Yikes. That is not gonna go over good in the hood.
I’m amazed at how many here on FreeRepublic are readily siding with the criminal cops who shot a bunch of innocent people. I guess conservatives don’t care about freedom anymore!
Right. They ran, therefore there’re guilty. Shoot ‘em.
To the point.
It's 0122h PST. now. You used to be on PST. Are you located in the mid-west now ( Mountain Time )????????
Apparently he was unarmed.
Last night another Anaheim Cop shot and killed an armed perp, he was a Homey which is all that matters to the “Community” This is a totally separate incident to this story. Things could bubble over fast.
I just don't know what they'd do but the cops don't try their patience either.
Didn't find any.
So, since you claim the neighbors are shooting more people than the cops, find two!
Did you notice on the videos how many of them spoke English?
What we seem to have here is what is known as a POLICE RIOT.
We don't tolerate that behavior in Virginia.
This happens all the time.
By the time the thought gets properly manipulated in his mind the perp and his buds are running away.
A parole violation is not ordinarily a reason to shoot a guy. The cop has to have one heck of a story to get that one past a grand jury and I just don't see it happening.
This thing escalated to a first class mess-up when the cops began firing into the crowd of neighbors who came out to see what happened.
Remember, this was Saturday afternoon, great California weather, and folks had time to do that. I'm sure they'd do that here, and maybe your neighborhood as well ~ or maybe they don't care and are totally devoid of human emotions where you live ~ but I doubt that. In America most people are simply not prepared to just step over the bodies like they do in Calcutta.
The Detroitification of an entire state proceeds apace...another monument to the Liberal welfare state in the process of formation.
