Anaheim police were investigating a violent melee Saturday night between police officers and an angry crowd. Authorities said the crowd threw bottles and set fires at an intersection, and police used non-lethal force to disperse them. Sgt. Bob Dunn of the Anaheim Police Department said the incident started when two patrol officers tried to approach three men in an alley about 4 p.m. in the 600 block of North Anna Drive and the men fled.

It's hard to say, but the video of the police response looks intensely brutal. What's wrong with a community getting fed up with police shooting its neighbors?
Test case for union cops
Seems to me that innocent people don’t run from cops.
I was surprised how many of them spoke English.
Can you name a few who should have? |

Your very first post and you seem to have a specific answer in mind that you want to hear.
You would make great climatologist.
The only times I ever ran from the cops was when I was guilty. LOL
The members of the community have been shooting a lot more of their neighbors than the police.

The video is not in context - I’d like to hear the policemen’s side of the story. Perhaps they were being pelted with rocks? Don’t know, but cops typically don’t start shooting up a place for no reason - just too much paperwork to fill out.

One other comment. If people want to use their anchor babies as human shields, they’re more than welcome to. But when they get hurt, please don’t go crying to media about it.
Randy Weaver, his wife, his kid, his dog, the Marine in Arizona, Richard Jewel, Peggy McMartin, well, I think I've made my point.....but then there was Sam Shepard too
Supreme Court of the US has ruled that is not a crime: to run when they see the cops.
I would not say the police response was brutal just proactive and not as proactive as i would have liked to see. This was a classic proto mob situation that if not vigorously squelched can rapidly escalate into a real riot as more and more ‘loosely compacted social matter’ is pulled in by the excitement of the moment and the promise of the joy of arson and looting to follow. I frequently am critical of police agencies specifically because of their obsession with petty rules. However, the police exist to owerawe the rabble and keep them from the streets. This is a classic positive use of police power to protect the community and disperse and if possible strike fear into the hearts of the miscreant class. The people shown here are typical damp American welfare spongers. Appear in large disorderly numbers complete with children for a little street drama carnival with the implied opportunity to loot a few stores. These are the leech class so beloved of the polisucks and the Mahdi. At least for a moment some of them had the fear of g-d put into their hearts. The civil rights criminals will be quick on the scene to try and terrorize the Anaheim PD for doing the right thing; i.e. defending the taxpayers property and enforcing public order for once.
but running IS probable cause .

A person using it in Gainesville Fla. with a
Master's degree in Information Science?
Could be a coincidence
A Librarian would likely have a wide assortment of information sources
FreeRepublic would be a fascinating site for this process
