I think this is the best, most wonderful, heartfelt and sharable father’s daughter reply I have ever seen or so wonderfully hugged in my heart. I LOVED reading your post!
1968 my Dad passed away on July 5th. My baby brother was in Nam, and the Red Cross got him home for the funeral. At the end of his leave the Army didn’t think he had enough time left in his hitch to send him back to Nam, so they did the next best thing. Instead of putting him someplace on the east coast, they sent him to Ft. Lewis, Washington. While on leave he married his high school sweetheart, took her along out to Seattle, and they’re STILL there. He got discharged there, they’ve raised 3 children, and now they’re both retired. They love the northwest.
Research what has happened throughout history on April 19.
Thanks. We spent summers at our Fishing Camp, and we didn’t have a TV there, in 1969, so we went to my sister’s house, in the town across the river, to watch the landing. We were all just enthralled, Daddy and Mama the most, because of seeing how far we’d come as a nation within their lifetimes.
Ping for just in case.
Obama is the rear end of the beast.
“Seriously.....July 20, 1969 is THE date for me. Neil Armstrong, closely followed by Buzz Aldrin. Man.....men.....Americans.....walking on the moon. Incredible accomplishment. Ill never, ever forget it.”
Me, either! What a glorious day that was, and I’ll never forget it, or the subsequent moon landings after it.
Do you remember that, at that time, TV went off the air at 11/12 pm? Not during space missions, though. I’ll never forget camping out in front of the TV all night long watching the coverage.
“Too bad so many have.”
Some of us are passing our memories along to later generations. ;o)
Strange that you should ask...
>>>What about the future? August 3, 2012 . . . . Obama abruptly resigns.<<<

WOW, you’re like famous!;)
Party at Tuckers house August 3rd.
The same happened to me.
Cue the Twilight Zone music....
Yes, very eerie. It was also a midnight movie so just after it became the 20th there. I only wished this July 20 had been an upbeat event instead like the Moon landing.
I can’t wait for the MSM to find this thread and imply that FR inspired the guy to kill 14 people on July 20th.
Thanks for birthday wishes! :)
