The trend goes up and down according to the political climate:

http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/freerepublic.com

We’ve been up and down many times, but we’ve long been the leader of all conservative forums in terms of readership, hits, etc.

We’re trending down at the moment. Every time there’s a down trend, the anti-freepers pray and declare we’re going under.

Our readership is down at the moment and it’s probably down most due to the fact that I absolutely refuse to bend to the demands of the True Blue Republican Big Tent GOP-e RINOS who wish to install the most progressive pro-abortion, pro-homosexual agenda, pro-big government socialist health care system pushing (RomneyCare), liberal judge appointing, gun-grabbing, keynesian economics stimulus spending pushing Republican ever to run for the presidency.

Made the decision long ago when Rudy McRomney first started running for president that I would never support an abortionist/homosexualist statist for the presidency no matter what it costs me personally and I’ve been true to that decision ever since. It may be the death of FR (but I don’t think so) but I’d rather die on my feet than live on my knees kowtowing to the big tent progressive abortionist/homosexualist/statist GOP-e tyrants.

I’m praying that we tea party conservatives turn out in November as never before to continue the tea party sweeps of 2010 and elect a majority of pro-life tea party conservatives into every elective office all across the land that is humanly possible. I cannot and will not vote for a known abortionist/statist, though, and simply do not believe any thing that etch-a-sketch Romney has to say. He was too far left for far too long and he’s a known liar.

If he’s elected, FR will be here to fight his leftist/progressive moves at every turn. If Obama is re-elected, I pray we have sufficient majorities in the house and senate to cut him off at the knees and or if he follows through with his threats to unconstitutionally bypass the congress, we impeach his usurping Marxist ass!!

But whatever happens, FR will live to fight another day and we will not set our pro-Life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-Liberty principles aside.

I can see November from my house!!

Thank you very much!!

Right on, dearest Jim!

We never surrender our principles and we never surrender to big government, pro abortion, gun grabbing liars etc.

PREFERABLY TEA PARTY CONSERVATIVES, and otherwise CONSERVATIVES. No incumbent RINOS if possible.

Free Republic is here to stay!

I can see November from my house too!

God bless and Keep us all and God help us save Our Republic.

No worries. According to the data, FR is making big inroads with the "cable balloon surveillance" crowd.

As long as we have FR then we have hope and a mission. Trending down can be good... we are getting rid of the socialists and “moderates”. I know that is redundant but it is true. Some that are leaving are more pro Republican Party than they are Conservative. I WAS a republican because of what the party stood for at one time... especially under Reagan. They have changed and so now I am an Independent Conservative that votes for Conservative republicans. We never needed those party first guys because they are in it only for the party to win... we are in it for America and everyone calling him or herself an American can be winners. They just do not understand the concept. Be glad they are gone. New Conservatives are being born every day... and they are finding their way here... and that is a trend that will continue and expand.

Jim, if we do not succeed our Constitutional Republic is finished. We will go down in history as the stupidest generation ever to exist: we had freedom, prosperity, happiness, opportunity, etc... and we spit on it all and chose slavery instead.

All those blind mice will realize what they have lost after it is taken away from them: TOO LATE!

You have seen my posts lately promoting state secession as a last-ditch alternative. We must keep this weapon in reserve as a last hope to preserve some semblance of our Founding Father's dreams in tact.

I don't keep up enough lately to understand what this thread is about in depth, but FReegards anyway. Never stop kicking against the pricks (Acts 9:5, etc.)

On a more serious note, regarding Quix?

I will only say that he has always been kind to me, and I will
not speak ill of him, and I wish him well as I'm sure you do.

Re your post 103: Was Quix supporting Romney? Is that what this is about?

Why would someone who believes in the Illuminati, fallen angels, and UFO's support Mitt Romney? I don't get it. He always struck me as way, way to the right.

He was always kind to me, even when I didn't deserve it. I'm sorry to see him go and wish him well.

I don't know yet what I'm going to do in November (aside from the rest of the ticket). I'm continuing to pray for a miracle at the convention. If that doesn't happen . . . I don't know. I'm so conflicted. This whole situation is so miserable.

I’ve been lurking since the old Whitewater days, finally signed up about 12 years ago or so and am now an albeit small but monthly donor. I don’t post much but I practically live here.

I think the site has lost a bit of its vigor from back then, but is still by far the best place to find news and information, as well as being an amazing knowledge base. Great humor, too. There’s rarely any need to look elsewhere for news and/or information.

Happy Fourth of July to you and all my FReeper virtual friends, from up here in the great white north.

Cheers,
Jim
Oh, yeah. You have a great first name, too.

It’s good that you’re holding on to your principals. When it comes to your core Christian beliefs you will answer to a higher power. Don’t worry bout us, we’re just dust.

Happy Independence Day and may God bless you and your family.

I absolutely refuse to bend to the demands of the True Blue Republican Big Tent ...
***I posted this on the original bugzapper thread:

___________________________________________________________________

I’m a big tent republican.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1821435/posts?page=6245#6245
Here’s an analogy to work with. Take a small box and fill it with some rocks. Then add some rice, filling it to the top. Now take all the same stuff, but in a different order. Put in the rice first, then add the rocks. What you’ll find is that if you put in the big stuff first, the small stuff will fit around it. But if you put in the small stuff first, the big stuff won’t have room. The republican tent is the box. The Big issues are the socon issues, to be put in first. The little issues are things that can be accommodated around the bigger stuff. A candidate who tries to focus on the smaller issues first and leave out the bigger issues has no way of getting all of us into the tent. He splits the party. The candidate who gets the big stuff right and as much of the little stuff that will fit, he can fit more into the tent. We’re often amazed at how much rice can keep fitting in. Rudy Giuliani flunks some of the big issues, and on some of the little issues it looks to me like anyone else’s rice would do just as well. All that remains for us to agree on is which are the bedrock principles and which are not. Why would there be so much invective aimed at rudy from the right? Because there are some bedrock principles that he is leaving out. Bad move. I see rudybot postings all the time saying that they would vote for Hunter, and I see socon postings that say they would not vote for rudy. That’s a BIG indicator of a few bedrock principles that are being left outside the tent in order to let in some rice.
