Glad to see you still hammering away on one of the largest Cult Groups in the United States! All Christians need to be very wary of them and be aware of them. Thanks for your work on it!
You have never heard of Robert Bork and that he was filibustered? You don't understand that is a tactic Democrats have used against Republican nominees to the courts?
And, given Romney's lack of conviction and willingness to govern out of political expediency, why on earth do you think he'd fight to get a conservative judge onto SCOTUS? He didn't even try to fight for even moderate judges in Massachusetts.
It is Romneys job to keep his word as to who hed appoint.
What mind-boggling is that you'd trust to keep his word when he has flip-flopped and broken his word over and over again.
You're stupidity is dooming conservatism for EIGHT years instead of four.
When someone says that the work of some of the finest theological minds in Evangelical Christianity in the USA (and in the world, too) is “incoherent” and “with pretensions of theology” ... then my suggestion to them ... would be to rethink one’s own “coherency” ... :-)
Ahhh ... is that his position? It’s that he’s supporting a Mormon for President more than anything else?
At least I’ve stated several times here that IN ADDITION TO the problems with Romney and his politics (i.e., abortion and Obamacare and not being the real conservative that we need) ... that I also would NOT VOTE FOR A CULT GROUP MEMBER for President of the United States of America.
It would seem to be only fair - then - that if that’s what he’s after, he would at least say, “I want a Mormon for President” ... if that’s the truth of the matter.
Is this a rational and honest and conservative thing to do?
RM, why do you ask the same questions over and over and over again?
Is this a rational and honest and Conservative thing to do?
The thing is that there are a WHOLE LOT of Bible-believing Christians on this site and they know that following the Mormon doctrines, teachings and theology - will result (according to the Bible’s words) - ETERNAL DAMNATION.
That’s a VERY IMPORTANT ITEM for Christians and can’t be minimized. It’s actually the WHOLE REASON for Christians still being here on earth - to proclaim the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and to warn people against the FALSE DOCTRINES and TEACHINGS of the many groups who subvert God’s Word.
That is the “Prime Directive” for Christians - straight from Jesus, the Messiah of Israel — and it cannot be minimized.
It would be rational and honest as well as conservative to answer the questions.
What you say is quite true. Thanks for standing up for Jesus Christ, the Gospel and the true Word of the Bible.
Do you have a link to that contention?
Because that is not what I am reading:
http://www.massbar.org/legislative-activities/joint-bar-committee-/the-judicial-selection-process/the-governor%27s-council
The Governor's Council The council, is referred to as the Executive Council, but is more commonly known as the Governors Council. The council was created by the Constitution of Massachusetts as adopted in 1780. Part the Second, Chapter II, Section I, Article IX of the Massachusetts Constitution specifically calls for the council to give their advice and consent to the Executive upon his nomination of a candidate to judicial office. The council consists of eight members, elected every two years, who are charged with representing regional districts.
Judge Bork was not filibustered.
You just don't ever say one true thing, do you?
http://issuespot.wordpress.com/2012/06/14/con-con-no-news-is-good-news/
Among other things, the Governors Council is tasked with vetting the governors judicial nominees and appointees to the state parole board. Today, the primary function of the Governors Council is to review judicial nominations. Many recent judicial nomination hearings have made headlines for their contentious nature and close votes.
Vetting, not selecting, according to this website.
Rick Santorum on the process:
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jan/19/romneys-record-of-judicial-capitulation/
Mr. Romney nominated 36 judges while governor, just nine of whom were Republicans. What he says of this record today is that the Massachusetts Governor's Council had to confirm the nominees, and the members of the council were all Democrats. So his answer was to nominate persons palatable to Democrats.
But this all-Democratic Governor's Council is effectively no different from the U.S. Senate.
I'll pray for you at Mass on Sunday.
Why do you ask the same questions over and over and over again?
Is this a rational and honest and conservative thing to do?

Yes
its called FREEDOM OF SPEECH...
So as Sirius Lee asked you
Why are you cheerleading for liberals on Americas premier conservative web forum?
It is Romneys job to keep his word as to who hed appoint.
__________________________________________________
No its not...
The Constitution doesnt say that at all...
Read the Constitution...
The job description for the president is contained within...
it does not include “he must keep his word” about anything he promised while campaigning...
and actually Willie Mitty has not promised to appoint Conservative judges...
So electing a socialist POS for a second term will work?
Really?
Wow, I can't tell you how good that made me feel! We all sometimes write long thoughtful posts with nary a reply, and then begin to feel we are unimportant. I've found the squeaky wheel gets the notice, even when it has broken spokes.
I sure dont want to see posters dancing on virtual graves of zotted posters (what are we in junior high?).
I agree. As to Quix, I'm sorry it came to this and more sorry to see the 'piling on' zotted FReepers, who can't defend themselves. The zot celebrations are disliked by the majority here, they are just afraid to speak up. Some are deserved but some people are really hurt and angry and spew it out elsewhere.
I NEVER go on the Religion forums. My stomach is turned just by scrolling past some of those comments while looking at latest posts, and I wonder how Christian can fight Christian as they do.... It is not for us to judge others, that is God's jurisdiction.
Quix was kind to me years ago when my son was working on Johnston's Atoll and making trips to other countries. Quix gave me some tips about certian countries.
I recall hearing how she [Yorkie] was in an accident and lost people close to her,and was injured herself, and praying for her.
Yorkie is my friend and a lovely lady. She is still recovering from the terrible accident and loss of TiaPam, and another person, who were her close friends. I still keep her in my prayers too.
Election times are hard and there are rules here to abide by. Thus there are many who also post on other forums. It's certainly not wise to say hateful things about others on any other forum as the internet is a 'small' place at times, lol. They ranted and raved about Wide Awakes, when many left to join it, and Wide Awakes supposedly had private areas where they spoke freely and others couldn't see what was said.
I miss the fun, the discussion but thats the way of internet forums I guess.
I miss that more than I can say. Years ago I had a group of friends and we had more fun in our discussions. Sadly, most of them are long gone now. I appreciate your kind and thoughtful comments Twink, thank you!
[I love Freep...I spend more time on it than I watch TV or read the newspaper.]
I do too Ed, a LOT more time, lol.
As to our sign up dates, 9/11 brought a lot of us here.
Take care.
My pleasure and you're most welcome.
Very sorry to be over a day late, but we lost power during a T-storm yesterday evening.
Prepare yourselves, STAR & DJ. With all this double-speak, snake handling could be next.
