Carney: "Bush started Fast and Furious; Obama ended it"
Rush Limbaugh Show | 6/21/12 | Limbaugh

Posted on 06/21/2012 9:55:17 AM PDT by pabianice

Rush just played this tape. Rancid Media is backing Carney. Rush wants to know why Obama is invoking executive privilege if (1) Obama was not involved and/or (2) Obama ended an operation he knew nothing about. Rush: "It's all falling apart for them." CBS forced to report on F&F for first time because of Obama's involvement.

Since democRATs, assorted media and now the press spokesperson for zer0 does not care American citizens have lost their lives while the White House and Department of Justice ran guns and probably ammo to drug cartels (alleged) the documents would prove the truth is being told. Looks like the documents tell a different truth that the (purported) truth the democRATs, assorted media and now the press spokesperson for zer0 are telling. People died and if (BIG IF) the documents tell there was no involvement by the White House and Department of Justice the documents would be released. Thus, one must surmise the documents show the democRATs, assorted media and now the press spokesperson for zer0 are lying. It is the only conclusion a rational person can reach. The democRATs, assorted media and now the press spokesperson for zer0 are all showing themselves to not be rational and sane, or they would prove those who do not believe them wrong. It really is that simple.

Wide Receiver ended while Bush was in office.

Correct.

Started in 2006 - operation ended in 2007.

No, it wasn't, Gun Walker, it was called, Gun Runner. Here's the 2009 press conference announcing operation Gun Runner. Press conference announcing, Operation Gun Runner. C-Span

Oh come on! There’s a tape of Holder admitting under oath that Fast and Furious (Obama) and Wide Receiver (Bush) were two different operations and admitted the difference. Carney is flat out lying and stupidly lying at that because it’s a provable falsehood!

One thing I have never heard, one way or the other, is when Project Gunrunner began. It’s the agency-wide umbrella that F&F, Castaway and other as-yet-unnamed operations were run under the 0bama/Holder regime. I don’t know if the name was used before 0bama or not.

Is there such a word as “lamest?” If so, tattoo it to Jay Carney’s forehead! What happened with Bush is totally different than what happened under Obama. Face the truth. On the other hand, did President Eisenhower take the heat for the failed Bay of Pigs disaster? No, I believe that mess was executed under President Kennedy’s watch!

I think he was referring to Wide Receiver.

The thing Carney fails to add was that when Bush found out about it, he ordered it stopped.

“Wide Receiver” is codename for Barney Frank.

Yes, Project Gunrunner was the large umbrella operation for many other operation, and Fast and Furious was a sub-operation ran from the BATFE Phoenix, AZ Division under Project Gunrunner.

Here you go. This website has an excellent timeline of what happened when:

Obviously the "truth" is not what matters. Perception is the reality for the uninformed. Democrats with the help of the Media and organized bloggers control the "Perception."

Once again the Republicans bring a knife to a gunfight.

We sit here and think what is so obvious to us must be obvious to the uninformed and those who could care less.

. Unfortunately, the uninformed and could care less make up 42 percent of the electorate.

This is one lie that cannot be allowed to stand.

Is the Bush AG or some spokeperson, or President Bush himself going to come out and publicly address this lie? It's a big whopper and must not stand.

Good luck with that Jay Clowney...

“By invoking “executive privilege” the White House has now voluntarily stepped into the swamp that is “Fast and Furious,” its cover-up by the Justice Department and the discovery by Congress that the Eric Holder and his department engaged in a pattern of lies and obfuscation. Their willingness to drag the Bush administration into the mud with them completes the portrait of an administration lacking in any character and integrity.”

Jay is one of the worse Mouthpieces that any president in the history of the office has had. The program, F&F got a few people killed and the Head Donk goes the Executive Privilege route. If there was any question about the President being involved, that question just got answered.

What amazes me is that the administration of the smartest man in the world has had several years to come up with a plausible story and a strategy to deal with this, and yet, it appears they’re flailing around without any idea what they’re doing.

Surely it must have occured to someone that invoking executive privilege would moot blaming it on Bush - I mean, they’re all so much smarter than us, right?

There is a lot of good stuff there but it doesn’t say when Project Gunrunner began. Was that name ever used before the 0bama administration for ATF operations? That’s what I’m getting at.

There are many fundamental differences between Wide Receiver v. Fast and Furious.

Operation Wide Receiver (WR) was coordinated with Mexican government. Fast and Furious(F&F) left the Mexican authorities in the dark.

F&F was a “hapless plan” ( the real agenda was to create mayhem) that put firearms into the hands of the Mexican cartels with no intentions of any type of “sting” operation against them.

WR sought to track firearms using new RFID technology, but untested technology for this operation, in the arm shipments to the drug cartels, and was fully coordinated with Mexican government. The plan was to do interdict and capture the bad guys that ultimately failed to work.

It started on paper in the year 2005.
From the the Gunwalker timeline website:

“ATF developed Project Gunrunner as a pilot initiative around 2005.”

I know there were a lot of differences between the two operations. No doubt about it.

One thing for sure, after F&F is over I doubt if we will ever see a Democrat in the White House again for a long, long time.
