My feelings are bittersweet. The love of my life, my 22 year old daughter is graduating from Oregon State University tomorrow. That's the sweet part.
The bitter part is that the commencement speaker is none other than Moochelle 0bama, a woman I politically abhor!

I have to show up at the venue at 1:30, undergo a TSA type pat-down and then wait until 5:30 for Moochelle to give the Commencement speech, then the diplomas are awarded.
My question: Can I boo or heckle at these type of high-profile FLOTUS events?
BTW, my daughter feels the same way about Moochelle.

I would not restrain my 1st Amendment rights, but that’s just me. It is a big day for your daughter (unless she’s of the same mindset.
One might just stand and turn their back when Mooch Antoinette speaks. Shows displeasure without disrespect, in a way.
Although SOMEONE in my college graduating class arranged for a singing telegram (a big hairy guy in a pink tutu) greeting to our commencement speaker - none other than Tip O’Neil, himself...

If Procon needs to walk out, and he gets a nasty challenge, maybe he should claim that he has to go for a “nature break”. As in right now.
I really don’t think you should do that. It would be incredibly rude. Don’t forget this isn’t about Michelle Obama, it is about the hundreds of kids graduating.

I suggest simply bursting out laughing at inappropriate times during her speech. The effect will be devastating, and no one will be able to accuse you of heckling.

Boy, I’d be having some problems with this too!!! But the lowdown is, it’s your daughter’s big day. It would be a shame to spoil it (by, say, your being evicted from the ceremony!).
What *I* would do is take a book to read while you’re killing time standing in line ... a nice, big, fat conservative book whose cover and title could be read easily at a distance. Maybe a Mark Steyn book? (But not one that has a photo of Obama on the front so the goons could exclude you because of it.)
Then when our so-called First Lady takes the podium ... you calmly take out your much more interesting book from your bag and read, totally ignoring her, until she’s done. Then you put away your book and pay attention to the rest of the proceedings.
Extra points if you sit somewhere close to cameras and (casually, not obviously) hold up your book so that other people can see the title. Score! And doing it this way, you’re still a lady, and if the goons throw you out, you can sue them for taking away your freedom of speech. Double score! ;o)
Oh, and the best part about pulling out a book to read while she’s speaking is that if you sit close enough for her to see you . . . she will SEE RED! But she won’t be able to do a darned thing about it. Triple score!
Make that a copy of Atlas Shrugged.
When I graduated, the speakers were my lead Company Commander, one of the most patriotic men in America, the then-CO of the training center, who is now an Admiral, and a Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer.
What I’m suggesting is that your daughter can make up for it by joining the military and having a much better graduation later on. :)

The graduates have to show-up at 1:00, and the diplomas aren't going to be awarded until after 6:00 or whenever her majesty is finished speaking.
It's 11:00 local time and she's still deciding if she's going to walk or not, LOL!
It would be a long day and the temperature is suppose to be hot for Oregon.
We'll see...
The rest of us are fine; Zach is staying with me for a couple of weeks, so it's party time :-)
