Mitt Romney tied one arm behind his back today when he repudiated efforts to make an issue of the controversial Rev. Jeremiah Wright and his connection to a former member of his congregation, Barack Obama.
Running a campaign much like that of failed 2008 Republican nominee, John McCain, Romney has taken an important issue off the table this election cycle. It is an issue that goes to the deep roots of Obama's character.
Wright is arguably most famous for saying, The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing God Bless America. No, no, no, God damn America!"

Bama has the entire MSM at his disposal, although if Clinton wanted to take Obama out, they might shift their allegiance.
I won't feel sorry for him either. Will he be afraid to say Hussein like McCain was. He eviscerated Newt over personal matters when Newt wanted to keep it clean. Guess he can't bring himself to go after BO like he needs to.
Wright wants to get revenge on BO too.
Romney doesn’t want to win. His purpose is to give the election to Obama.
When the media starts running (and the will) the documentaries about Mormon’s skinning puppies or whatever other tripe...then it will be time to Vet Rev. Wright’s Connection To Obama.
By now you should have realized Romney has no plan for improving the American economy. Rather, he has a vague outline of a plan to make himself president.
I think Romney wants to distance himself from the super-Pacs, then let them have at Wright. He then will say, “I can’t control them”, just like Obama can’t make his super PACs return Bill Maher’s $1,000,000. The man has more diabolical than one can imagine... Very ingenious...

Right out of the McCain 2008 How To Lose Handbook!
Jeff says he's been a Mormon for 40 years...
...that means he was Lds around 1972-1978 -- when Lds practiced open racism by disallowing blacks to hold the priesthood...
No priesthood, no temple recommend;
no temple recommend, no temple access;
no temple access, no ability to be married in the temple for eternity -- a requirement for the highest Mormons if they want to live in the celestial kingdom;
no marriage & no celestial kingdom, then no living with Heavenly Father forever.
And...if you don't live forever with Heavenly Father, you might as well call it "damnation" -- even if Mormons don't always do. Therefore, Mormons DO essentially "damn" America to a life minus living with Heavenly Father forever...(Even non-temple Mormons are so "damned")
So tell me again why Jeff - no matter what his religion (and a religion I do not share with him, nor do I care a whit for Mitt) - does not have the moral standing as a patriotic American to condemn Reverend Wright without any caveat to his personal religious beliefs.
It's not Jeff's religion that "disqualifies" him from such commentary...It's this comment he was making to NoRedTape -- indicating that commenting on the religious ties/beliefs/convictions/worldviews of a POTUS candidate is somehow supposedly out of bounds:
May 8, 2012, to NoRedTape: Do you really have to make this thread an anti-LDS thing? ...As to religion, if you must make it about that... Source: Santorum endorses one-time rival Romney
No religious hypocrisy being practiced here, eh?
Tis OK to make threads an anti-Islamic "thing" as long as it pertains to Obama, eh? But Mormonism -- per some Mormon FREEPERs -- is somehow "sacrosanct" from similar dissection?
Well, perhaps you can point me to the 9/11 hijackers who were Mormons, nutbar.
RINOs disgust me.
Yes, now that all conservative candidates have been destroyed by a party establishment that was determined to win, all of a sudden they lose all their gumption.
Do they even want to win? That's not really a rhetorical question, I'm afraid.
If the MSM was fair and treated Dems and Republicans equally.... Then no way would Bammy be re-elected and 40 states would have Republican governors. Plus Bammy’s bs socialist health care would never would have passed because the dirty dealing to pass it would have been exposed to the light of day
Romney needs to stay “above the fray”, and let others do the dirty work.
Romney needs to stay above the fray...
That was a wonderful campaign tatic in 2008 by McBlame. While he needs to pick his moments, sometimes he is going to have to get his hands dirty. Especially when the opening fray was a 47 year old hit piece by the Washington Compost.
Perhaps Christie should be his running mate. He won’t mind telling the Obamabots to kiss his arse.
This individual who is acting like some kid of liberal, whiney, stalker has been following me around all day posting this swill.
I tried to reason with them a few times, but they would have none of that and kept at it. I finally responded directly HERE at POST 16 on another thread.
Take a read if you are so inlcined. I regard them as background noise now...sort of like a field rat out in the foothills when you're hunting Elk. Nothing to get worked up about...just not worth it.
OBTW, Colo, for your info...just keep refereing back to that link above anytime you feel the need to keep up with your childish stalking and whining. I've got more important things to do.
Finally, dirtboy, as to the topic of this thread, I saw an hour long Hannity tonight all about Wright and the new about it too. I figure they will keep on talking about it for weeks, if not months.
Pretty shrewd move by Romney IMHO...the info is out there and others are getting it spread around even further...no need for Romney to spend money for what he is getting for free. Leaves him to concentrate on the economy and Obama's atrociuous record.
IF ROMNEY BECOMES THE GOP NOMINEE, HERE'S WHY I WILL VOTE FOR HIM
Romney thinks he can defeat Obama by saying he is going to Create Jobs and Give tax Cuts? Well Figure dont lie But Liars can Figure,Obama will spew all kinds of Numbers and Jobs Created and all other Bilge,But whats Ronmney going to do Call him a Liar? Cant do that Mitt you will be called a Racist.
Obamas character is the Key to defeating him because thats where all of his Anti American Policies come From,if you dont pound him on where he is coming from ,Left wing radicals and Corrupt Chicago politics you will lose because the Media is going to Back him all the way on His Figures and all the Other Bilge he spews. OBAMA IS A Marxist left wing Amerca Hating Puke,Get on it Mitt you dolt

Actually, it's probably an astute move - keeps it from being a religious issue. Obama has plenty of associations that are not connected religiously. Romney going after the Wright angle would just allow the Left to obscure the real issues, by calling it a "godless Mormon's attack on religion" or some such nonsense.
