Bill Clinton on Fox: 'Taxing the rich won't help us. Everybody needs to pay more in taxes. Once we get the economy growing again, no one should object to paying more in taxes.'
Well...it is kind of hard to pay income taxes if you aren't making any income...
The problem is a bunch of people who do make an income are paying no income taxes.
Half of Americans already pay no taxes.
And why don’t professional athletes pay social security taxes? And public unions?
Who's not "making any income"? The bums, deadbeats, and parasites get welfare, WIC, food stamps, Section 8, SSDI... shall I go on? That is "making income", but as loyal voting members of the Democrat party base, they will STILL suffer no cuts or pay any taxes. Quite the opposite.
No. By "everyone", the Sink Masturbator means "Republicans" - - normal American families who work for what they have.
regardless of whatever he means, clinton came off the 1% BS and class warfare we hear daily from iman obama....the door is open for the GOP to drive the wedge through....
Tax ASSETS and not income, and see how much support you get from your ultra-rich bribe dispensers, NotSoSlick.
In fact, you might end up in an Arkansas ditch....
LOL - Good point. Then again, wealthy liberal elites want taxes raised on those further down the ladder - helps keep their 'top dog' status safe... The permanently dependent want assurances their 'disability' will go on forever - on someone else's dime - and the screwed working people are already voting Republican... maybe Clinton has a point.
I agree that Clinton appears to have gone off script, but there was nothing noble about it. He may simply be sending up a scumbag Democrat "trial balloon", or maybe he is setting the stage for the Kenyan Kommunist to "rebuff" him and make himself look good.
In any event, neither of those two floating pieces of sh** can be trusted.
They already pay sales and other non-income taxes. I’m all for limiting and reducing the transfer payments. Again, the issue is that people are “working for what they have” and don’t pay income taxes. Last check 49.7% of people have a zero net income tax liability. 87% of those people make $40,000 or less. THAT is the problem.
Hopefully you all knew that was the plan all along.
Expect Obama if re-elected will veto the next tax cut extension unlike what he did in 2010 when he was thinking re-election.
I saw a Dem panel on CSPAN yesterday talking about how the voters must be convinced that higher taxes are good for them and Republicans go along, but those at the bottom (<30K who dont pay now) must be protected from it.
In fact I don't trust Romney on this either. I figure Romney's swan song would be : "Let's make a deal"
“You can have power over people as long as you don’t take everything away from them. But when you’ve robbed a man of everything, he’s no longer in you power.”

Yep sure seems like Clinton engaging in some payback (to Jug Ears) Trying to get a rise out of him.
” Clinton’s and Gore’s shady business deals and speeches have made both men 10 times richer than either Reagan or Bush and involving truly some despicable influence peddling that borders on illegal if not immoral
and the media...hardly one word.
these are progressives for ya....their money...every liberal I know is less generous than conservatives”
Exactly
“In fact I don’t trust Romney on this either. I figure Romney’s swan song would be : “Let’s make a deal” “
Hard to be worse than Boehner..
“Hopefully you all knew that was the plan all along.”
The plan of all tyrannical regimes is to take from EVERYONE, own all the resources, especially the subjects, but in the meantime, they did a damn fine job of convincing all the willing idiots that they should hate the ‘rich’.
“RE :Bill Clinton on Fox: Taxing the rich won’t help us. Everybody needs to pay more in taxes.”
More BS...they’ll exempt the ‘special interest poor’ to keep their voting base, for instance Illegal aliens...you can bet they won’t be paying, but getting thousands in return for the EIC just like they’ve done for years.
I don't think they convinced everyone to hate the rich, but anytime you poll a large sample of people then taxing the rich 'more' will always poll better than cutting benefits of the non-rich who are being polled, especially if it's ones they were told they earned like SS and medicare.
For example : ON the Dem channel they ALWAYS tell the viewer that unemployment comp is insurance that workers pay the ‘premiums’ (taxes) for. But only the EVIL employer pays those specific payroll taxes not the employee at all, but that ruins their argument that we are entitled so they simply outright lie. That is the same principle as above.
If benefits were increasing with tax cuts like under GWB then few will care if the rich get tax cuts except real libs.
True for income taxes, not true for sales tax, gasoline tax, property tax, cigarette tax, alcohol tax,..., brass tax, carpet tax, &c. &c. I'm sure you get the idea.
When you think about it taxes like the sales tax impact the poor much harder then the wealthy since the tax represents a greater percentage of their income. Which is probably why a "flat rate" income tax has so far been a non-starter.

Yes, I get the idea. Clinton, however, was talking about raising income tax rates, not about any of the numerous taxes you mentioned.
