We manufacture more than any other nation. Feel free to prove me wrong. Facts only, your error filled feelings are tiresome
This chart shows that the China manufactures more in U.S. dollars now than the U.S.( if you take into account that china undervalues its currency by at least 20 times then you see why China manufactures 20 times what the U.S. does, 8 x the steel in tons, etc. The U.S. manufactured more steel in tons in 1953. Then we had a large % of the world steel production. now china has 44% of the steel production of the world. china is taking over the world. and even this chart shows that even in U.S. dollars china's manufacturing is skyrocketing.

http://investing.curiouscatblog.net/2011/12/28/chart-of-manufacturing-output-from-2000-to-2010-by-country/
U.S manufactures 8.9 million cars per year. That is mostly workers screwing on parts made in China . So that is our “production”.

Additionally U.S. employment in manufacturing has declined from 17 million to 11 million since 2000.Finally, a fact. I was afraid you were unable to post one. Maybe you should compare how much we manufactured in 2000 and how much we manufacture now, with millions fewer workers? If you're able?
And as the imports from China and other places are increasing at an exponential rate
And maybe look up the definition of exponential?
You really things are ok since as you say we the U.S. produce more than anyone?
It's nice to see you haven't stopped putting words into my mouth.
the international socialists say we produce more than china
Reality is saying that we produce more.

China undervalues its currency at least by a factor of 20 times. OMG! You're confused.
look at a graph of manufacturing jobs as a percentage of population now only around 3% of population.
That few workers making so much stuff? Wow! How many Chinese work to make their stuff? Must be a lot more. Somewhere I heard 100 million Chinese, but the source is very (incredibly unbelievably) unreliable.

This chart shows that the China manufactures more in U.S. dollars now than the U.S... --and "this chart" is what some loony blogger says is "based on UN Data". That's fine if you believe everything the UN says about the collapse of the US, but there are other opinions:

Corporations have no obligation to "the many" other than to offer them goods and services
This is top of the line globalist BS.
The American government, meaning THE people of the United States, grant corporations their status. The American PEOPLE had created a government that was based on the rule of law, so that corporations could thrive based on the fact that the law, if followed would protect their interests and allow them to profit. Finally the American PEOPLE are the ones, who for example, joined the Navy or other military, and have suffered and DIED to protect commerce and allow trade!
You say we get NOTHING for that? Your comments show you have no regard for this country or its founding and you have drunk the globalist communist Kool-aid. Because corporations, as they are operating now, are nothing but global collectives that rely on corrupting our government, economic rapine of our economy to support their international 'business' activities, and outright communism to support the slave labor they so love.
So you say they have NO obligation? We should dis-incorporate them and let them hang themselves with their communist co-conspirators.
To: Jeff Gordon
Apple is responsible to its shareholders
How did they get incorporated? Did they file papers in Shareholder land? Where was their incorporation recorded? In Shareholder land? I'm just curious to know how the shareholders got sovereign.
To: GeronL
How about blaming high taxes and over regulation?Removing high taxes and regulations would remove the corprate fig leaf. No, the corps use those excuses to screw America.

You think a country can prosper if they don't and can't make these high tech products?
Or keep their military defenses secure when the enemy is manufacturing your equipment?
Depend on your enemy for your security. There's a fine example of the free traitor globalist communist way. Trashnational corporations are beholden to no one, except the communists who provide them the slave labor they love.
To: central_va
Actually they have removed the taxes from corporations. The tariffs that used to fund this country are negated by 'free trade', so that goods manufactured abroad can be brought in without tariffs.
How many taxes did, for example, GE pay last year?
How much free tax payer money were they granted last year from the government to pursue business interests they were fully capable of funding themselves?
To: Toddsterpatriot
Production of pig iron/steel is about half of what it was in 1940! China makes more steel than the rest of the world COMBINED. Nothing to see here, move along.

Yes, we could increase the production of steel beyond the point where it was profitable. Why would we want to do that?

The American government, meaning THE people of the United States, grant corporations their status.Yes! So the government should force them to sell at a government set price. Buy supplies from government approved suppliers. Hire government approved workers. At government approved wages.
What could go wrong?

Too much. Corporate welfare should be eliminated.

Yes, tanks are important.
How much steel do we need to make them?

That’s a funny thing to say, coming from the Chinese communist party ambassador for slave labor and ‘free trade’.
To: hedgetrimmer
Come on, I wouldn’t call your recommendations funny.

Yes that's true. China is on the way to conquering the U.S.A and many here as you can see on this thread are arguing against me because I am for stopping china, putting restrictions on those communists . I am for returning to the trade embargo that we had on China for 40 years of the cold war or least a partial embargo on many imported products. Funny how we didn't need China then and America was actually succeeding and far ahead of the world in technology , rising living standards , wealth etc.

You can try to make people think what you said, is somehow my opinion, but that’s awfully cowardly, and in keeping with the free traitor mentality.
To: rurgan
The corruption in our government is reinforced by allowing politicians to ‘invest’ in the Chinese economy and products.
Look what a traitor Diane Feinstein has become with her shanghai real estate and steel mill investments.
Then the whole rotten ‘free trade’ system that our government uses to force companies offshore, or shut them down entirely. All because they are making money off the demise of America.
Now, here’s a funny story, the Chinese have bought an Arnold Palmer designed golf course in Monterey, California. They are paying him to design courses in china (bribe) and this one in Monterey is for the Chinese to have a place to make ‘business’ deals (their words). Not for recreation! I’m sure they bought it to invite that Leon Panetta to play and ‘do business’ for our military. It’s next door to the Pannetta Institute, funded by taxpayers. It means more compromised chips! Tracking devices! Poison products for the military like they sell us for pet food and toothpaste!
That’s ‘free trade’!
