Olympics aside, this may be the biggest London event of the year. At least for Trekkies.
The actors who played captains on the five live-action "Star Trek" television shows - William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula - are set to appear on stage for the first time. The five are due to attend the "Destination Star Trek London" fan convention, which takes place between October 19 and October 21 (get tickets here).

That much awesomeness in one place could tear a hole in the space time continuum. On the other hand, Janeway and Sisko will offset the awesomeness.

Old joke time. How can you tell Star Trek is the best example of science fiction around?
Answer: Socialism works.

I like Janeway. Let’s see you try command a ship that’s a thousand light years stranded away from home with officers who were part of a Federation rebel group. Wished I was the one babysitting a hot Borg blond as my daily routine.

LOL! I'm not a fan of anything but TOS. But supposedly there was an episode on one of the later series where a guy from the 20th century was sent to the future. He was curious how his investments were doing, and was told "we don't have THAT system anymore".
Right. I'm sure that in the 23rd century they still have some form of compensation. Do you think that a starship captain would work for the same number of "credits" as an ensign? Or the guy who cleans the Enterprise's toilets. Don't think so.

I didn’t watch much TNG and the like after B5 started but I did like Sisko and DS9 for the most part. I am mixed on Picard, Captain Quantum, and Mrs. Columbo.

Too bad the newest one will not be there. I liked the newest one the best.

Chakotay should have been Captain. Top Paris was a rebellious sort like Kirk and may have made a pretty good Captain.

I saw Shatner last summer, he was sharp at a tack - quick wit and just a great entertainer and didn’t look a day over 59...even tho he was 80!

I remember that episode. One of my favorite phrases, “low-mileage pit woofie” came from that one.

That’s like asking if Ryker should have been captain, even though the first 3 seasons he turned down captain’s commissions more than once. Chakotay is steady and reliable but Janeway thinks 4 steps ahead.

I would have liked to have seen those 20th century people they unfroze and culture shocked appear maybe once or twice again somewhere in later seasons.

Seven of Nine rules the screen.
