The infamous "cookie monster," now 22 and a brunette, found herself in a familiar place this week: Behind bars.
Stefanie Woods, who has been staying with her parents in their Parkland home, was arrested Thursday by Broward County Sheriff's deputies on a felony charge of violating her probation.
Woods, previously of suburban Lake Worth, gained national notoriety in 2008 when she and a friend stole $168 from 9-year-old Girl Scout Gracie Smith who was selling cookies outside a Winn-Dixie in suburban Boynton Beach.
She was placed on house arrest and probation in 2010 after she pled guilty to kidnapping and robbery charges. The terms of her probation require her to stay in her house except when she is working, doing public service, or any other activity approved by her probation officer. She wears an electronic monitoring device that keeps track.
On Feb. 21, Woods left the home for four minutes at 1:47 p.m. without her probation officer's approval, according to an arrest warrant signed March 15 by a Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Richard Oftedal.
She had another absence, this time seven minutes, starting at 12:16 a.m. on March 2. She is required to give her probation officer receipts for her gasoline purchases, but failed to submit one on March 7. She did not report to the probation office that same day even though she had been told to do so the day before.
The infractions are all minor, said Woods' attorney Leonard Feuer.
She was late getting home on Feb. 21 because she became ill and pulled over on the side of the road to vomit. The seven minute lapse was the result of making a pit stop to buy gas, and she paid cash for which she did not get a receipt, he said in an email.
The missed meeting was a misunderstanding because she had no gas receipt to give the probation officer, Feuer said.
Less than three weeks after the cookie caper, Woods and the friend were arrested after dining at a Denny's in western Lantana and then walking out on their $25.84 bill.
In 2009, Woods, her then-boyfriend and another man robbed a man of prescription drugs while armed with a gun in Palm Beach Gardens, and she pled guilty to kidnapping and firearm charges.
Circuit Judge Amy Smith sentenced Woods to a year in jail, which she had already served.
She also was ordered into a Department of Corrections drug treatment center and then placed on house arrest and probation.
She is being held in Broward County jail awaiting transport to Palm Beach County Jail.
"Ms. Woods has never failed a drug test, has successfully completed her substance abuse program, regularly attends counseling and has strived to establish herself as a model probationer," Feuer said.
This is such a minor thing, why is this in the news?
...
besides that Girl Scout was trying to fund abortion and the gay agenda...
:p

Okay, pop quiz, FRiends: What’s wrong with this picture?
That they let a woman be a judge?
Uh- she stole from a 9-year old girl.
I meant the missing meeting and not turning in a fuel reciept
We had a woman judge in Dade County, Fl., her name was Ellen Morphonios. You would never in your lifetime want to go in front of her, especially if found guilty. She was nicknamed “Maximum Morphonios” for the long sentences she routinely handed down.

Just some late night humor.
“’C’ is for ‘Convict’, that’s good enough for me.”
but your Honor I merely found the drugs and was on my way to the police station to turn them in at the time of my arrest.
Oo - I know. If the prescription drugs were free they wouldn’t have had to steal them!
Dead eyes.
Love the Dilbert!
Most of Parkland is very nice and expensive.
I remember her! Way back in the day, she guest-hosted for Rush Limbaugh a couple of times. She was also a story on 60 minutes. I didn’t know that she had passed away, that’s too bad. She was a real pistol, to be sure.
She is working up to the big time.
