Excuse me for saying this, but “wad of zombies” sounds really bad.

Hardly a zombie to be found here in Central VA! Looks like they’re all concentrated in the Hampton Roads area. Funny, I’d have thought they’d be up in leftwing northern VA.

I’m in a safe zone but go 1/2 mile away or so in any direction, I’m in the center ring.

I don’t get it. That’s just a map of all urban areas.

There are a whole lot of things that would change zombie demographics. A major factor would be whether the zombies would be reanimated cadavers from cemeteries, of victims of the zombie plague disease.

That is, in a large part of the US west of the Mississippi, there are far fewer buried cadavers than in some place like New Orleans.

Whereas, if they were plague zombies, about the only thing that would matter is population density where you live.

Geography and seasons are also very important. Zombies frozen stiff or dehydrated into over-dried brittle beef jerky are going to be a lot less functional than in moderate and somewhat humid circumstances.

Personally, I like the idea of a mountain fortress with the mountain covered in black basalt, that in summer can give off 180F heat easily.

Why is the high school down the road considered a zombie zone?

... never mind...

AH! I saw this on IMDB yesterday.
It didn't have the gun shop close to my house listed, but still....

Worthy of a ping.

We have a small pond in the back yard, and it’s on the map, although they don’t show the houses. Must be some sort of takeoff from Google Earth.

This is a really bad zombie map.

They have a small farming town of about 1200 as a zombie central. That's bull.

Also, there is a large triangular portion just south of Kansas City that would be part of zombie central.

Very poor zombie map.

Questionable map...shows my ranch and neighboring gun range being in a zombie zone. Nothing here but cattle, corn, and
venison.

Don’t feel bad. I live near Washington, D.C. “Land of the Living Dead”, i.e. Democrats, liberals, lobbyists, and reds.

Gonna need more ammo and axes.

As I was telling George Romero a number of years ago, “I liked the movie but you should have ....”

He has the neatest ponytail. Malcolm McDowell, sitting next to us, agreed.

I live in a zombie zone but actually the urban folks don't worry me that much, they are going to be beggars to the remnants of the government. They can lock down an urban area like a prison, curfews, quarantines, rations, etc. In times of riots they tend to loot and burn down their own neighborhoods for the dysfunctional are well... dysfunctional. If an event that turns people into refuges occurs the poor are to be pitied for they can't get out of the way quickly, it is they who will suffer the most as they did in Katrina. May we all keep our humanity as much as possible if some vast tragedy ever befalls the United States. It is inevitable that good people must sometimes defend themselves and their families from others. People do turn very nasty especially when hungry it is a sad fact of life and in an urban area there are more people. It is also true that you can live next to a serious psycho in the remote countryside with no one around to hear your screams.

Here is a useful Zombie map- this plots “social vulnerability”, by county. Plots that county’s liklihood of serious problems if something goes awry, like a Zombie Apocalypse. Or nationwide power/natural gas blackout.
