Interesting map if you want to find out your survival chances if SHTP.
I'm in a "safe" zone, but only about 1/2 mile from a wad of zombies!!
prepper ping!
Excuse me for saying this, but “wad of zombies” sounds really bad.
Hardly a zombie to be found here in Central VA! Looks like they’re all concentrated in the Hampton Roads area. Funny, I’d have thought they’d be up in leftwing northern VA.
I’m in a safe zone but go 1/2 mile away or so in any direction, I’m in the center ring.
I don’t get it. That’s just a map of all urban areas.
phantastic
I couldn’t tell a lot about the map; it seemed to be a bit on the vague side and hard to get to download - but, then I am in a remote area with only access to dialup internet service - seriously. It looked like the city to the north of us is a hotbed of zombies, but we’re in the boonie area.
I think that’s the whole point.
Who lives in urban areas?
Zombies!
I don’t get it either. I live at the edge of a city with 12k people in KY and this thing shows my whole city as a zombie zone?
Hey, I found my truck on the map.
Hampton Roads? With all of the military in that area, I would think that the service members would outnumber the zombies.
Have you ever traveled through Newport News or parts of Portsmouth?
Zombies everywhere.
I am between two red zones of zombies in my neck of leftie Northern VA. :)
I lived in Newport News.
There are a whole lot of things that would change zombie demographics. A major factor would be whether the zombies would be reanimated cadavers from cemeteries, of victims of the zombie plague disease.
That is, in a large part of the US west of the Mississippi, there are far fewer buried cadavers than in some place like New Orleans.
Whereas, if they were plague zombies, about the only thing that would matter is population density where you live.
Geography and seasons are also very important. Zombies frozen stiff or dehydrated into over-dried brittle beef jerky are going to be a lot less functional than in moderate and somewhat humid circumstances.
Personally, I like the idea of a mountain fortress with the mountain covered in black basalt, that in summer can give off 180F heat easily.
Why is the high school down the road considered a zombie zone?
... never mind...
We have a small pond in the back yard, and it’s on the map, although they don’t show the houses. Must be some sort of takeoff from Google Earth.
