When I was little, we each used to chew a big yellow tablet every day in the summer, at our Fishing Camp. We called them ‘sulfur/cream of tarter’ tablets, but I don’t know if that is the correct name. I think the Doc told Mama to have us chew them so that mosquito bites wouldn’t get infected, but I truly don’t know what they were for. Maybe to keep us from getting malaria? Who knows?

I heard of sulphur tablets. I don’t believe I took them because all medicine tasted terrible when I was growing up so I know I would have remembered. So far, I think sulphur is a good thing to have on hand - especially in the South.
