“The hurricane is threatening theisland, what do you do?”
“The hurricane is safe!”
*groan*
Seriously though, in the story, the teleFRAG does lead to a stable usable teleporter.
They dod have to sift through tons of data to figure out what exactly happened.

A teleFRAG is nice, but right now we really need a teleTELEprompter...

I’m still undecided about cats.
Sometimes I think the best thing about them is that they don’t have thumbs.

Waving back, FJ! Hi everyone!
When you start expecting unpredictability, that's when everything begins to go horribly wrong.
Or does noticing that everything is beginning to go horribly wrong make you expect unpredictability?

What does unexpected have to do with unpredictability? If unpredictability means "not predictable; not to be foreseen or foretold: an unpredictable occurrence", how is that different from unexpected?

We have two polydactyls. One of them unscrews valve stem covers and other things. We’ve been blessed/cursed w/animals that enjoy challenges. One dog removed one of the pedals from my exercycle. Another dog stole a whole orange and left the peel inside-out on the living room floor. Thumb-forefinger prehension is highly overrated.
To: Silentgypsy
It made more sense the second time I read it. The first time I glanced and I thought you wrote "we have two pterodactyls."
With the UT you never know.

"With the UT you never know." On a recent trip I started assembling the plot elements for a quest-style story set in a future Flying Castle space habitat.
Like seven thousand years in the future.
Reminiscent of Heinlein's "Universe".
Needless to say, all the fine mechanisms that keep everything so cozy here have long since malfunctioned, and those remnants of technology that may still function are unpredictable and scary.
This will take a long gestation period.
