I've put some heavy wear and tear on my keyboard making the point here that it's OK to loathe Romney, but to underestimate him is the act of a fool.
Those of us who have been on the "no Romney, no how!!" bandwagon here for the last year have had the luxury of believing that someone else would be able to keep Romney from the nomination.
That now appears increasingly unlikely, as we all are forced to face the fact that Freepers (and those out there who think like Freepers) are not a decisive majority in the Republican electorate. Not even close.
There are millions of long-time Republicans who are voting for Romney because he's a dignified, executive-looking gentleman who speaks in soothing patriotic platitudes. You don't have to like this, but it's true. (And no, they are not being operated by mind control rays from Karl Rove!)
So where does this leave us? Frankly I dunno. I would hope that those who advocate holding noses and voting for Romney don't get banned from FR. At the same time, I think it's very unlikely that I will vote for him. (I voted third party in 2008 in preference to McQueeg).

Maybe that’s why I hate to see some folks joking or being cynical about this election. So very much is at stake - generations have fought and died for our republic and we have a very dangerous occupier in our White House intent on tearing it down and permanently destroying it - and us - we ALL must vote against this force of evil. And, no, I don’t agree that Romney is the same as Obama... and I would MUCH rather have him as President than that disaster that’s currently in the White House.
But to each his (or her) own. Stay home and don’t vote if you want. But if your conscience can’t allow you to vote for Romney against Obama, how’s your conscience going to feel if Obama wins because you DON’T vote for Romney against Obama?

As much as folks so often make me want to scream.
It’s only natural, if you have empathy for people, and love and concern for your country, to want to yell “STOP” when you see them walking, or running, towards what you know to be a cliff.
Maybe we can get out ahead of ‘em and put up some caution tape...

I'm not happy about Romney having the lead in the primaries either, but it is what it is. Many people in the GOP are flat out uninformed, but I wouldn't call them traitors.
And no, I do not think of Romney as another Satan and people who do are also uninformed. That name equates with Obama and I cannot fathom how anyone would think they are equally the same.

In 2008, I was blasted here for threatneing to vote for the more conservative Libertarian candidate. This time, I don’t care what anyone says.

If an ABO focus IS actualized assuming Romney is the nom, that tidal wave WILL bring down Obama.
And we MUST bring down Obama to have a chance in salvaging a future non-marxist USSC. The court is at a tipping point as it is, with its infirmed/elderly...nevermind it's razor-thin majority of true constitutionalists.
Obamacare then (if not prior to the election,) becomes the symptom that it is.
