HOUSTON, -- A California woman was arrested for allegedly cursing at a Southwest Airlines flight attendant who asked her to stop painting her nails, officials said.
Jeanie Daniels of Burbank was detained for 10 hours after the Feb. 26 altercation, CBS News reported Tuesday.
Daniels was en route from Los Angeles to Houston to visit her boyfriend and said she asked the people sitting around her if they would mind if she painted her fingernails. She said they told her to go ahead, but a flight attendant told her to stop.
"I thought it was all going well until the attendant came over and was very upset I was painting my nails, saying it was offending everyone around me," Daniels said.
She said she went into the airplane's bathroom to finish the paint job, but a second flight attendant stopped her. When the first flight attendant confronted her about the incident back at her seat, Daniels said she got upset because the attendant "just kept carrying it on and on."
"She was getting so loud when I was sitting in my seat. I was like, just stop, and I was loud when I said [expletive] because she wouldn't end the conversation," Daniels told CBS News.
Daniels was arrested upon arrival in Houston for use of profane language, though the charge was later dismissed. Daniels said officers also accused her of attempting to hit a flight attendant when she raised her hand to give a high five to the first attendant in an attempt to apologize.
OUCH!!!
I flew Southwest once. That was it for me. Never again.
Airline workers are now another protected class.
I actually long for the days when people actually dressed up to fly...today it is like a trip to the Bowery.
Anyone notice how this article is giving ONLY this woman’s side of the story. I’m always on alert when I read anything by the lame-stream media (and this particular article takes it to a new extreme — UPI “reporting” on what “CBS News reported”) and this “report” doesn’t pass the smell test.
And I’m sure that the atmosphere in the enclosed cabin, with its noxious fumes, didn’t pass the smell test either.
This bubble-headed woman gives bleached blondes a bad name.
Is EVERYTHING an arrestable offence these days? Can’t some things just be left a stupid without getting the police involved? Sheesh. Retards from top to bottom.
You can’t open bottles of toxic chemicals on an airplane.
It is confined space. The air is re-circulated.
I was on a Delta flight to Atlanta one time when a blond bimbo, similar in appearance to this hag, was painting her nails.
I complained LOUDLY about the IDIOT painting her nails.
No luck, so called the waitress. No luck there either.
So when I landed, I called Delta and was told it is against the rules to paint nails during flight. Think it is the toluene in polish, very toxic....

Do NOT wear anything made of acetate when flying. In a fire, natural fiber, in a tight weave, resist burning to a point. Acetate ignites much easier, melts, and sticks to your skin to the point that it has to be surgically removed.
Acetate? Nope, denim jeans, cotton shirts, and sturdy shoes are the way to travel.
Woman arrested for painting nails on plane
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dupe thread. Posted 2-3 times yesterday. And yet... The headline is still a lie. The woman WAS NOT arrested. And it was NOT about painting nails.
Carry on.
Same is true of all synthetics, to various degrees.
Wool, however, is naturally fire retardant. Remove it from the flame and it will stop burning.
Cotton, linen, etc. burn much like paper.
and no, my nails are *not* cheesy.
Yes, I know. There’s ALWAYS an excuse, ALWAYS a reason, ALWAYS a justification. There’s no end to the justifications for more laws, more arrests, more wars on something or other. Everything can be justified in one way or another, can’t it.
Cool, thanks for the information. Gotta get me some wool clothing for air travel.
