What the heck does he think he's accomplishing with his asinine APOLOGY? With his STUPID apology, he has just pandered to the left. He has just had his first "Don Imus" moment. Is Rush going senile? I just don't get it. Maybe the guy really isn't all that bright.
I sure do hope Rush doesn't have to be unemployed for a period before recovering from his little apology moment like Don Imus did.
What a knucklehead.

She made herself an advocate for women who need $3k in contraception to get through law school.
Fine, she's not a slut, she's merely a Slut Advocate. What does that make her?
One woman's opinion. I disagree completely.
But, but, but then “we” couldn’t be offended that a Catholic University (that the “student” chose to attend) didn’t provide insurance coverage for contraceptives that are specifically against the teachings of the Church it’s affiliated with...and Fluck’s agenda, which seems to be the agenda of the Left, would be a footnote and not the major headline the liberal MSM has made it.
*student* The media makes her out to be this young coed when she’s a 30 yr old woman who is a political activist.
I think the post I was responding to there was the left’s position in a nutshell.
I am truly sorry about your embarrassment, but that more a statement about your critical thinking skills than Rush's performance.
While Moira Lasch never said a word about her own sex life, is there any doubt in your mind about her suppositions and experiences after she tried to castigate William Kennedy Smith at the idea he could have sex twice in one night?
The fact is if you need a thousand dollars a year for birth control, you're talking about condoms, not the pill. And if you are talking about that many condoms, you're talking about alot of sex with men you don't trust to keep you free of disease, not men you don't want to make you pregnant.
So what kind of woman would make statements that presuppose such assumptions?
I thought you presented it well. A few seem to be caught up in the whole “slut” comment and it takes away from the real issue, imo.
This isn’t really about the cost of birth control or Rush calling this 30 yr old political activist’s testimony slutty. The media, which is primarily controlled by the left, is still framing the issues and the debates.
“Her point being that it costs the average female law student $3k in contraception to get through law school. She said that. Her point being that the school insurer doesn’t cover that. Her excuse was that some minor percentage use bc pills for medical conditions and that’s a phoney excuse because they do cover that”
She is a liar then. I don’t hear anyone calling her that. Again you keep calling women who use birth control sluts. I don’t agree with you. She didn’t say these women were having TONS of sex with LOTS of different men. Why does using birth control automatically make you a slut? Your birth control pills cost the same amount if you are sleeping with your husband or you are sleeping with 10 men a day. So show me where she talked about ANY slutty behaviour on ANYONE’s part and you win.
Maybe we need to define slut. Do you think anyone having sex outside of marriage is a slut? I do not. I think sex outside of marriage is a sin. But I would reserve the term slut for someone who is promicious (lots of partners).
Lol. Because I am honest in my debate, I am going to let someone ship me off to the ovens? Hyperbole much?
Yes calling her a slut worked so well for Rush. s/
She wasn’t talking about condoms. Condoms aren’t prescribed and you don’t have to go to the pharmacy counter to get them. They aren’t used to treat polycystic ovarian syndrome and they aren’t used to treat endometreosis.
What she was doing was LYING about the true cost of birth control pills. She wanted people to think it was a true hardship when in fact they are very inexpensive.
My embarrassment was not about my criticial thinking skills however it was my own fault. I should have(and usually do) check with the source. It didn’t take long for me to do that.
No, I called women who "need" $3k worth of bc to get through law school sluts. I stand by that because no one man, not even me, could have enough sex to require that much bc.
So tell me what were his ratings for today?
‘No, I called women who “need” $3k worth of bc to get through law school sluts. I stand by that because no one man, not even me, could have enough sex to require that much bc.’
Yes I see your point clearly. Sorry sometimes it takes a while online to get to where you could in second face to face. If she was talking about $3000 worth of condoms I completely agree with you! And I did think that was what she was talking about UNTIL I listened to her testimony.
After I listened, I didn’t get the sense that she was talking about condoms. I think she was just lying about the cost of BC pills. The reason I say that is because she talked about a woman going to the pharmacy counter and about prescriptions. That isn’t a description of a condom. She also talked about coverage for medical condition (endo. and PSOS) which wouldn’t be treatable by condoms.
Maybe she meant to conflate the two and be vague. But anyway if she is talking about condoms I agree with you.
Hope that is clearer.
I don’t know what his ratings were. He lost alot of advertisers and 2 radio stations have dropped him. I don’t think it will hurt his bottom line but it has hurt the debate. The debate is now about that “mean spiteful misogynistic’ Rush Limbaugh and not about our religious freedoms.
I love Rush. I have been defending him (not what he said) for days on his advertisers sites. I am also boycotting any company that drops him.
“The testimony was misrepresented to us and until I listened myself I was arguing on a false premise. I felt deceived and frankly I was embarrassed.”
Here’s where you are wrong. It wasn’t misrepresented to “us” but “you” interpreted it incorrectly and argued on a false premise. I think you may be trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and missing the real issue.
I cringed when RL framed his commentary the way he did because I knew the media would run with it, in the wrong direction, and that even conservatives would take his comments out of context and miss the real issue.
I don’t like when anyone calls a woman a slut, or any other terms of that nature. Similar terms pertaining to males have different connotations. Less negative. But, we’re seeing an all out assault on men in our society so a few slang terms shouldn’t be cause for the assualt directed at RL on this matter. However, the media is certainly playing it up. And, the women who get offended by the term “slut” have their “Slutwalks” so it’s a bizzare world.
What message do you think she was trying to influence Congress with?
Maybe she meant to conflate the two and be vague.
No, a leftist would never do that! ;^)
She must certainly have been lying about the cost. Even if she meant four years $3k works out to $62.50 per month.
Well, only if you really call that an apology.
“I’m sorry I acted like them.”
I thought it was classy when I actually heard it. Before that, I was concerned.
That just gives him a bigger audience to speak to and he's never been at a loss for exposing the hypocrisy of the left. I don't know of anyone who does it better.
Exactly. But it’s not what her speech (aka testimony) was about or what it was meant to cause. RL called her and the agenda out and now is getting the backlash.
I get that you’re trying to stick to the topic/issue but youre leaving out the tactics the left (and all their counterparts) utilizes to their advantage every single time. And, you’re still allowing them to control the discussion, imo.
