The preserved heart of Dublin's patron saint has been stolen from the city's Christ Church Cathedral, officials say.
The thief would have needed metal cutters to prise open the iron bars protecting the wooden heart-shaped box holding St Laurence O'Toole's heart.

Savages
This was a depraved act...
Stealing a Saints preserved heart from a church is bad juju. Even if I was an athiest, i wouldn’t tempt fate like that. Thank God I have the fear of God in me to have a basic sense of decency. Most of the time.
It doesn’t get much worse thanthis.
Is it held for ransom? What is the sense in this?
Of what posible use other than ransom could this Holy object be used for?
Muslims rioting over a burned copy of a $2.00 Koran you can buy anywhere, and here someone has stolen a truly Holy object that is irreplaceble.
Exactly right...
-——What is the sense in this?-——

Could be an E.A. Poe’s “Telltale Heart” scenario.
“What is the sense in this?”
For all we know, the Lord’s going to turn lemons into lemonade by having the theif come forward, repent and return it - a little object lesson. He does that kind of stuff.
