Cry me a river.
From reading the article, it appears that SHE IS STILL NOT A LEGAL US CITIZEN.
What part of ILLEGAL ALIEN does she and her idiot classmates not understand?
GO BACK HOME to Columbia!
Her mother has gone back to Columbia, so she will at least have someone and some place to go to.
“She was born in Colombia and came here with her parents when she was four...a few years ago, her mom returned to Colombia for medical reasons while Daniela was in the process of legalizing her status.”
It’s not clear how the parents arrived here, which could make a huge difference in this case.
-If her parents were living here legally as permanent resident aliens, then it could be just a matter of a legal technicality (i.e. returning home) that threw a monkey wrench into the works. In that case, I’d be sympathetic as the parents were playing by the rules for themselves and in making their daughter a citizen. I don’t want to see a bright kid’s future ruined by some bureaucratic pitfall.
-On the other hand, if they came here illegally...the kid’s going to have to pay the price. That would be a rough deal for the daughter, who seems like a good kid. The parents made this problem happen, though. If they’re here illegally, they probably haven’t been paying taxes for the last 14 years, including the ones that paid for their daughter’s education.
Hope she wins an appeal. If she was 4 when she entered the USA her age precludes her from being criminal.
Ooooh. She knows the National Anthem!
I know the Marseillaise. How stupid! Get her @$$ out of the country.
ML/NJ
Throw this very good student out yet allow folks to come here cause they have aids or cause they are homo’s and may not have such a peachy life in the craphole they came from?
“Yeah. I have a 6.7 GPA, said Daniela.”
I guess they’ve liberalized the GPA once again.
It’s not hard to feel sorry for her. She was brought here as a child, has no relationship with her native country and appears to be an exemplary student.
So, I think an accomodation is in order:
Round up TEN ne’er do well illegals and send them home PERMANENTLY and she can stay. Same for others like her. We gain both ways around. Oh, and her parents have to be the first two of the ten.
shes now the valedictorian.
Yeah. I have a 6.7 GPA, said Daniela.
Well then go and help your country ! It needs talented people !
Shut up and beat it.
“I know more about the United States than I do about Colombia.”
Sounds like she’s been a bit remiss in her studies, seeing as she must have known she could have ended up back there at any moment.
Bwaha—a 6.7 GPA. Got grade inflation much, Miami?
YAY!
I’d still like to know what did she do , it reached the level of Judge orders her deported. This cannot be a typical case. She must have broken some serious laws especially in Miami which is more or less sanctuary city. After all is said and done, they will not be deporting her. They are seeking their 15 minutes of fame. Before family would allow her to be deported, they would arrange for her to flee. There has been to many other cases like this, where illegal was not deported and this wil be the case here.
What the heck is a 6.7 gpa?
Rule of law. Deal with it. Si.
So long and have fun in your real country.
