Short Bus's Obama Birth Certificate Defense Is Officially ZOTTED
The Stir ^ | 3/2/12 | Sasha Brown-Worsham

Posted on 03/02/2012 9:17:36 AM PST by Short Bus

Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona is bound and determined to make sure we never forget the embarrassment of the birther movement. Most of us would love to put that ugly little racist blip in our history -- a time when conspiracy theorists and fools alike accused President Barack Obama of not being American. But Arpaio, a sheriff in Phoenix, Arizona, just won't give it up.

Can we say beating a dead horse, people? Sometimes it seems like certain politicians just do things to help out Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, and Bill Maher. After all, how else does anyone explain Arpaio's inane and insane assertion that Obama, a man who produced his birth certificate last year, isn't American?

See his ranting [here].

"Forgery or fraud may have been committed," says Arpaio. Ooooh no! Are ghosts and goblins real, too, Sheriff Arpaio? How about the Loch Ness Monster? Do you go visit old Nessie on your days off from enforcing the laws of Arizona?

In all seriousness, this is vile racism plain and simple. In a place like Arizona, it's no surprise -- after all, many politicians there (including Arpaio) hold rather Draconian views on immigration -- and it's disgusting. And it's getting old fast.

For all you doubters for whom book learning was apparently a challenge, here are the facts: President Barack Obama was born in Honolulu on August 4, 1961. He has produced both a certificate of live birth during the 2008 campaign and the long-form certificate last year. Neither has been disproved.

So why is this still going on? Arpaio seems like a joke, but, according to Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt, Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney doesn't think so. Yesterday LaBolt tweeted:

Romney has called Arpaio for his endorsement, his aides called "weekly" and Arpaio was his honorary Chair in 08.
That's embarrassing. The fact is, most people agree Arpaio is a few cards shy of a full deck, but here we are still talking about him. Is this an alternate universe? Why am I guessing this guy is the type of person who stays at parties hours after they have ended asking for more chips and guacamole? Dude, the party is over, the ship has sailed, and you are beating a dead horse.

Sadly, there aren't enough cliched ways to say IT'S OVER to make it any clearer to this guy.

I kinda wish I were 39, but with the knowledge I’ve gained since then...

This storm that is coming is really puckering up to blow. Since I have no one to care for The Stig until Wednesday, I can’t go with my son and his family to St. George. So they won’t stop here tonight...just push on to SG and come back on Tuesday. He used the excuse that they were “trying to save money,” but I’m confused about what the difference is between paying for a hotel tonight and one for Tuesday.

Then he said her folks were expecting them to go to church with them in the morning. I said, “You did that last time. Why don’t you go to church with me, this time?” No deal.

OK. I got it.

So I will continue to clean house and watch the storm. The Stig is just as happy, I think.

At least I didn’t pack...

I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you to go with them. On the other hand, maybe the stress of the trip to St. George (where’s that?) would have been too much for you. I hope you have some good days with The Stig and get to go to church tomorrow!

I’ll probably go to the Spanish Mass tomorrow, even though we’re not doing the music. I miss my friends if I don’t see them! Elen’s choir is doing the morning services, so the others can go at 9:00.

St. George is about 120 miles from here, and I have a niece, nephew and BIL there that I seldom get to see, so if I could have gone, it would have been a lot of fun. However, the Lord knows what He is doing, and if things had come together, I’d be going with them.

I have to believe there is a reason I’m staying here, like it or not.

And I may get to go to church, anyway, if I feel up to it by morning. We shall see. Getting a ride is the least of my worries!

My kitchen is clean, anyway! LOL! Monday, i will mop and vacuum and may even get a couple more loads of clothes washed. It’s all good.

I’ll just make lemon meringue pie...

Back Jenny? He hasn’t been 39 since the last time he told Roscoe to bring the car around! LOL!

"At least I didn’t pack..."

Yeah, that's probably prudent.

You never know when your temper may get the best of you.

How do you pronounce the name Le-a?

Leedasha, the dash don’t be silent.

I need to give Kathleen a bath before she gets dressed for the St. Patrick’s Day party at church, and someone needs to give the byos some leftovers so they don’t starve before 7:00. Looks like we might have another storm this evening.

Probably a good thing then that you aren’t packing all the time.

I actually like La-a. (Is my nose growing?)

Welcome to the Undead Thread aka The Flying Castle. I’m sure you’ve heard of it...you’ve just fallen into it!

If you would like to be placed on one of our Ping Lists, Darksheare, Tax-Chick and I are the Keepers of Same. Let us know...

Actually, I don’t have my own ping list: I just copy Monkey Face’s off her profile, on the rare occasions I want to ping all the known Undead to something.

There’s a cashier at my Walmart named Fee’aa.

Today, I wore the un-Unicorn socks you sent me a while back, because they have green in them. My alternate choices were Mickey Mouse Christmas socks or monkey Easter socks.

I want to save the latter to wear to church on Easter... ;o]

Everything has a purpose.

I’m going to wear a blue dress tonight, but I went to Dollar Tree and got a green “St. Patrick’s Day Lei” to wear with it!

WHOA! Fee’aa? Not as easy to pronounce as La-a...

I got a green birthday card for my DIL yesterday, and found a couple of sparkly shamrocks to go inside it. I figured one for each, so that augmented the socks. I duzznt laik too bee pinched!

I’m sure there will be lots of green in church tomorrow...kind of a leftover-thingy.

There were ripe bananas on sale, and I had made a peanut butter pound cake but left the chocolate ganache off the top. Therefore, the cake floated before my eyes in a lovely vision slathered with Nutella and a layer of sliced banana on top.

Thanks for activating my sweet tooth silentgypsy.
