Hummers are apparently very territorial. Mr. SG’s old buddy (a Native American—former definition) liked big birds. I like the spirit of those little guys. Gregory actually defended his sugar water feeder against stinging insects. What a guy!
P.S. Sorry about the missus. Ya gotta watch out for those guys!
I was a granny at the age of 39. Some people aren’t clued in.
The missus and I watched a bluebird attack a bicyclist one day.
Forced him off the road, off his bike, and off across the field as he tried to pick blue feathers out of his nose.
The guy was climbing a hill on a ten speed, and a bolt of blue from out of the blue flew up his nose.
Frantic, the rider waved a hand in front of his face to get the insane rage-a-holic bird to go away.
Didn’t work, the bird just kept at it.
So the guy wavered, lost steam, crashed, rolled of the side of the road, stood up.
And was chased by his feathered heckler across the field.
We did feel bad for stopping the car and watching, but at first I wasn’t sure what had happened.
Your coffee does weird things only to deer silly enough to drink it.
You’d be amazed at what deer will drink.
I haven’t had any bluebirds but there was a feral chicken that hung out with a stray cat in my front yard. The would sit about four feet apart sunning themselves.
Bluebirds seem to be pretty nasty little things.
I’ve only seen two, and both times they were attacking something.
[Other time was a cat the bird was after.]
Feral chicken and a stray cat.
Hmm.
Obviously they were up to something, looking, waiting.
“When the human goes to sleep, then we’ll strike!”
Should be done by April if everything goes right. Then I can start on the deck.
Granted, we needed a licensed installed to do the A/C and the furnace... But I did the rest. In just under 3 years.
I’m impressed!
I’m sure you didn’t breastfeed your grandchild ;-).
I have a lot of gray hair for my age - comes from my mom’s side of the family.
I knew a lady while in college that had grey hair.
We were taking the same photography class.
She told us here first job was working at a theater playing the piano.
Hope you don't mind my jumping in here, briefly. I don't think I'm damagedintellectually agile enough to keep up in this environment for long, but I just wanted to follow an Undead Thread for a awhile and this Pings it back up top of my meager compilation, so I can check on it's progress(?) periodically. I guess I could sign onto the Ping list, but that just seems so establishment
"Feral chicken and a stray cat."
If you ever do opt to try out green eggs and ham, ask for poached. They're sinfully good.
Welcome to the Undead Thread! Traditionally, the last poster of the night (Eastern Time) gets the morning LOLcat.
Anoreth had an interesting experience with feral chickens on the golf course in Guam.
There's a story with possibilities.....
Indeed.
Someone should write a novel ...
The leftists’ double standard is no more on display than in this regard:
- Since it’s a far left Socialist, they just pass off any doubts or questions by attacking the messengers and screaming racism.
- If it were a Republican or, perish the thought, a conservative, there would be an immediate assumption of guilt and endless weeping and gnashing of teeth until there was a widely publicized investigation, including probes into who knew what and when did they know it.
Whatever happened to objective journalism that is only interested in the facts???
It’s too late, you’re infected.
You’ll find yourself coming up with bizarre things soon.
Or seeing odd things happen around you.
This will then become a bit of a hiding spot from it all.
Please don’t let my possessed clothes washer get me...
Oh, that's just wonderful, Darks. Now I'll never sleep soundly again!
Sorry!
Mine wobbles, groans, makes odd articulate noises, and then lurches.
