Ugh, I agree! Clooney and that movie "The Descendants" was soooo overrated IMO.
I'm glad Jean Dujardin won for "The Artist", although I thought Gary Oldman's performance in "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" was also Oscar-worthy.
In that case, Streep should introduce more beans into her diet.
ah. no, you’re right... Just NOMINATED... about a dozen times.
Take it back about Billy Chrystal. He ended up doing a really nice job.
I am happy for The Artist. Great movie!!!!!!
I agree about The Descendants. It is very overrated.
Either I’m confused or you are...
Billy did a great job; I said it from the beginning. But the sound technicians had problems.
Okay....so what are you talking about that I should take it back?
A very French Oscars, The Artist, Hugo, Midnight in Paris...the War Horse, took place in WWI France.
I’m quite often confused.
However, I had posted earlier in the thread that I was disappointed in Billy and I was saying, I take it back to that.
I ended up really liking the job he did.
David Cameron blasted the Iron Lady Film:

The Thatcher family declined to attend the screening:

The Iron Lady is a controversial film and full of Left wing propaganda (Friends and family have dismissed the drama as a Left-wing fantasy):

It was badly reviewed too and flopped at the box office. Streep’s performance was the only thing people liked.
Thanks for clearing things up!
Billy had a few slow moments but overall did good. Some people might think he took no risks compared to other hosts. But the Academy is probably satisfied and even relieved with his “steady” hosting tonight.
There was a live thread?? I looked for one but didn’t see it. Missed you all!
I didn’t care for War Horse at all. I like Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tin Tin more.

I missed the opening...and then realized it was probably good coming from Billie C.
can I find it somewhere?
Funny!! Ha ha ha ha! You need to be on the AI thread!
Last year’s Best Picture: An English dude who couldn’t speak.
This year’s: A French dude no one could hear.
Here we are at the Chapter 11 Theater (Kodak).
It was very funny.
Billys opening song was funny, but the sound guys had the music too loud...could not hear all the words he was singing.
Did they? I thought it was just my baby “chatting” in her bouncer. I couldn’t hear well either, even at volume on 27!
