I figure it's just how you were taught....or brought up.

No, my belief and testimony of the Savior and of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is based on far more personal explorations, trials, spiritual experiences and observations than "how I was brought up."

As for my tag line, if you Google the phrase, you will find there are some 15 or 16 translations of the Bible listed for John 8:32. All of them use a lowercase t for the word truth, just as I have done in my tag line. No offense or slight of Christ and His name is intended at all.

As for the use of the capitalization of the word The, that is from the legal name of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. So the term "The Church" is a proper shorthand.

Last, yes we do say The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of Jesus restored to the earth in the latter days. But unlike all of the other sects I know of, we do not say or imply pejorative judgements of other religions. For example, we don't say or imply you are going to hell if you are a Baptist, Catholic or Muslim. Quite the contrary. We fully recognize that our Father in Heaven loves all of his children here on earth. And we believe all will have the opportunity of understanding and learning about the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. If not in this life, in the hereafter. And by all, I mean all who now consider themselves Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Tao, or any other religion, including atheists.

My guess is that you and the vast majority of those on Freepers who seek to find fault with The Church, have had your own wonderful spiritual experiences in life. If we were to have a conversation, I would be delighted to hear of them for I know that is a clear signal of how much the Lord loves you and wants you to learn more about Him, even though we don't see eye to eye.

So you really believe all of us...Christians will have an opportunity to learn about this "fullness"..( meaning mormonism, right? ) now...or after we are dead?? Who's going to do this?

Let me ask you another question.....Who has the keys to the Kingdom of God....Jesus Christ, The Son of God...or does Joseph Smith have a say in who get's in too?

BTW...."I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life"........should be a no-brainer...for one who knows the Word, and who the Word is.

Use of your "The Church" isn't short-hand....it's mormonism's way of telling Christians they are lacking. In your own words you have more than admitted it. Why deny it?

Need look no further than "The Church's" own writings and compare them tom what the Bible has said.

Luke, use the force, Luke

As for my tag line, if you Google the phrase, you will find there are some 15 or 16 translations of the Bible listed for John 8:32.

Do you have a clue to the various methods and methodology regarding translation Luke? Unlike your prophet, real translation do not rely upon a peep stone and occultic methods of 'seeing' to 'translate' non-existant plates. Unlike your bom, Christians can refer to the extant Greek or Hebrew that forms the basis for these english translation to evaluate the fuller meanings of passages and through textural criticism and study incorporate more recently found manuscripts.

How does mormonism justify it's 3000+ changes to the bom - completely absent the plates and peep stone? Particularly since the testimony of those who did the scribe work for smith state that he gave the translation literally word for word as the 'stone' revealed the words and it wouldn't progress the next until it was correctly copied down.

btw, truth is truth, otherwise it is false and/or lies. Two opposing truths cannot coexist - one is either true and the other false or vice versa.

Hmmm...

Me thinks -- as MHGinTN has pointed out re: a # of other former FREEPER (Lds) posters...that you're either...
...dissimilating...
...or somehow missed a few seminary and Sunday School classes in your supposed "steeped" Mormonism.

What do I mean? (Keep reading) In light of what you said above, do you wish to "explain" the plain meaning of what's charted below? [Seems to me you only conceded the D&C 1:30 row below...and totally avoided dealing with the other obvious refs]

Or will you do the "typical" Mormon FREEPER thing...which is to make either a baseless or false claim, and then we never hear you address that subject again on this or any future thread? (Unless you, of course, just go around intentionally dissimilating on various threads).

Mormon church the only ‘Christ-sanctioned’ church on earth: “…the foundation of this [Mormon] church…the ONLY true and living church on the face of the whole earth [Obvious ‘scorched earth’ implication: All other churches are false and dead] Lds “scripture” Doctrines & Covenants 1:30
